Every country has its own rule of law when it comes to social justice and health care system. It is hard to judge which country has a better system. However, to know other nations way of lives is always great to compare how their citizens are treated, which is so important in people’s daily life. In the book of “The Healing of America”, by author T. R. Reid, who compares the American health system with various countries in the world predominantly, developed and democratic nations. Reid explains that those countries provide better and cheaper health care for their citizens compared to America. Reid states that the industrialized nations doing health care for their citizens even in less money, as American spent billions of dollars in administration cost, which is nothing to do with health care. In other words, in America billions of dollars are spent in admin cost, which benefits health insurance companies. Dreisinger talks about prisons of South Africa, Brazil, Singapore, and Norway. In each country’s prison Dreisinger talks various prison system. For instance, she finds that other countries are not that strict in terms of incarceration and she is critique that American justice is so horrible in doing reform toward prisons. America should learn how Rwandan prisoners are forgiven. During her trip she interviews many prisoners and she finds that prisoners are so smart. In addition to that, Dreisinger writes that the whole purpose of her book is a healing justice and reforming all her finding from industrialized nations.
