Growing up I lived a very happy, carefree childhood. I was always involved in sports and activities, hanging out with friends, trying new things, and very out going in everything I did. All of that changed as I started to get older. I began to face anxiety and it affected me in so many ways. From second grade to freshman year my life felt like a rollercoaster constantly spiraling out of my control, having many ups and downs. It started out with small things and slowly progressed to the point where I was constantly anxious any time I left the house. With the help of my family and close friends I was able to overcome this. When I was a kid I was always playing some type of sport. I loved going to sports camps and doing clinics, such as the ones where the little girls danced at the high school football games at half time. I was involved in sports from the age of four. I did any and every sport that I could try. Anywhere from soccer games to dance recitals, I loved every second of it. Everyone watching me do the sports that I loved was the best feeling in the world. When I wasn’t playing a sport on the weekend I was always spending time with my friends. It seemed like I was always having a sleepover with one of my best friends. It never really occurred to me how much I spent time away from my house, and out doing things before anxiety came into my life.
