Introduction You’re sitting in the stands at a Quidditch field. On this field there are people riding on brooms, a ball called a quaffle zooming through the air, and lots of Hogwarts spirit! This sport only exists in the wizarding world, but to a boy with a lightning scar on his forehead, the wizarding world is his real home. You hear a student scream that the Gryffindor house has won the game because of the boy.The boy with the scar. The boy who lived. Harry Potter. Who could have made this thrilling fantasy land? I’ll give you a hint. It’s someone with grew up living a happy childhood, had a spark of inspiration, created a website based on this series, and still has things going on in her current life. If you guessed, J.K. Rowling, then you are correct! Before The Fame Joanne “Jo” or “J.K” Rowling was born on July 31, 1965 in Yate, England to Anne and Peter Rowling. She had a younger sister Diane who was born a year and 11 months after Joanne. In general, she lived a very happy childhood, but got teased because of her last name. Kids were tend to call her “ Rowling Pin”, so she was never fond of her own last name. At a very young age, Rowling became interested in writing, and often would write in her free time. Her attempts weren’t very successful though. When she was six years old, she wrote a story and asked her mother to get it published. Her mother never got it published, but despite what happened, Joanne’s good friend, Sean, always gave her strength and courage.
