The Human Resource Function of a Retail Store Human resource manager’s role from the Human Resource Manager’s viewpoint is one that can be looked at from different angles. The different angles changes in a daily basis based on the challenges that the human resource manager faces. However the main responsibility of the HR manager is to recruit or hire potential employees who can fill positions in the organization, and ones that are qualified to perform the specific duties. The last thing that the HR needs to do is create an environment that supports teamwork. Employees are expected to give out the best if the conditions are around them are also good. Methods that the HR can use to improve functions at the retail store include coming up with rules and regulations. This is a special component in creating order and discipline in the store. Every employee has the right to work under conditions free from discrimination, sexual harassment and hazards of any kind. It is therefore the duty of the HR to come up with rules that are in line with those of the state and federal government to protect and govern everyone in the workplace. There are other rules that will govern the general activities at the retail store and this is also a primary duty of the HR to put them in place. Another method on how to improve the human resource functions is to create an environment that is family friendly (Griffin and Moorehead, 2010). Every employee should feel at ease working at the retail store, and the management should be in a position to relate well with the employees. This can be achieved through effective communication that the HR has duty to implement. Lastly, the HR should make sure that the hiring process is up to the required standards.
