The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a novel about a teenage girl, Katniss, struggling to survive in the life oppressed by the government. Living with the injustice of the Capitol, Katniss soon develops her own hatred toward the Capitol; by using what she have and striving for the best against it, Katniss is able to hold the odds in her favor. Katniss volunteering in Prim 's place in the arena, where she could die at anytime, is an extraordinary sacrifice of a sixteen-year-old girl for her sister. Staying alive in the deadly arena of The Hunger Games, where death is around every corner, is close to impossible. Using relationships to her advantage, having the courage to stand up to tyranny, and staying true to her values lead to Katniss ' survival in The Hunger Games and sparks a rebellion against the injustice of the Capitol.
The author uses the alliance between Katniss and Rue, the connection with Haymitch, her hunting partnership with Gale back home, and the star-crossed love with Peeta during the games to illustrate how the dependence on those relationship lead to the survival of Katniss in the game. The alliance with Rue is very necessary to Katniss because the presence of Rue in the arena reminds Katniss about her sister at home, Prim. She also saves Katniss from the career, and the wounds from the fireball and the tracker-jacker. Prim is the reason that Katniss

The Hunger Games, A book series by Suzanne Collins, differs in few ways from Veronica Roth’s Divergent. The Hunger Games lead role, Katniss Everdeen, lives in a world of few choices. The government controls the lives of everybody in the 12 districts. When Katniss’ little sister, Primrose, is chosen to fight in the annual Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She is forced to fight and forced to kill, all to survive. This competition results in the people fearing not only their government, but also their futures. Katniss becomes a symbol of rebellion against the
To begin with, The Hunger Games is the first book in the Hunger Games Trilogy, and is written by Suzanne Collins. First off, the novel takes place in Penem, a make-believe future where the Capital is surrounded by districts. The Districts are like slaves to the Capital, give away resources to the Capital and only keep some resources to themselves; so you can imagine that the districts are very poor. The Capital also forces the districts to give up one boy and girl to go to annual Hunger Games, so to prevent War. Katniss, the main character in the book, ends up being part of the hunger games alongside with Peeta. Katniss then has to fight for her life because there may only be one victor. Lastly, throughout this book you’ll see conformity and civil disobedience play a huge role in the Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games, a novel by Suzanne Collins, is the story of 16 years old, Katniss Everdeen, who fights to death for her district. The Hunger Games is an event hosted every year by the Capitol of Panem, where a randomly chosen boy and girl both need to represent each of the twelve districts that the capitol is composed of. When Katniss little sister, Prim, is chosen to be the representative for District twelve, Katniss volunteers to take her place and fight along her male counterpart, Peeta. The reason I choose this book for my book report is because Katniss is not your typical 16 year old girl. Not only is she her family’s provider but she’s also skillful, strong, rebellious, and unsentimental heroine. These are characteristics that society would mostly link to a 16 year old boy rather than a girl.
‘The Hunger Games’ written by Suzanne Collins (2008) describes a narrative where there are 12 districts that came from the ruins of North America that is called Panem, 3 of the districts are favoured by the Capitol, the rest of the districts are really poor. Each year a male and female ranging from 12 to 18 must go to the Capitol’s arena where they fight to the death reality television show called ‘The Hunger Games’. The text describes a teenage girl named Katniss Everdeen who lives in the dystopic district (District 12). Throughout the novel she makes friends and enemies. Despite being portrayed as a reality television event in Panem, there is mostly nothing realistic about the hunger games. In the novel the arena is altered and prepared with

Economics is the study of scarcity within a systems of rules. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins’ can be translated into such, with hunger being scarcity and games being a system of rules. In the Hunger Games, we are introduced to a country called Panem. The country of Panem is divided into twelve different districts and the Capitol, where the government resides. Each district has their own different specializations and they have distinctive economies. The government regulates the trade and each district rely on trade from each other district and the Capitol for the goods they don 't produce. All of the districts and the Capitol is interdependent.
Katniss Everdeen is a teenage girl that lives in a district of basically coal mines. Her father died in a mining accident, so she has to provide for her mother and sister. Every year there is a Hunger Game where one boy and one girl from each district (state) are drawn to fight to the death. It is very brutal and only one tribute comes out alive. In this drawing, Katniss's sister gets drawn but Katniss volunteers instead because she knows her sister can’t win. This is proof of her mission, to protect her family. This is supported by “With one sweep of my arm, I push her behind me”(Collins 25). In that situation, Katniss was putting her sister behind her to protect her. Katniss fought in The Hunger Games came out as “[...] the victors of the 74th Hunger Games[...]”(Collins 403) but with a few repercussions.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins tells the story of, Katniss Everdeen, a young teenage girl representing District 12 in the Hunger Games alongside her partner, Peeta Mellark. The Hunger Games is a tournament where twenty- four people, two from each district fight for their lives in an arena to entertain the Capitol, there is only one victor. Throughout the Hunger Games Katniss’ survival is very important. Haymitch, Cinna, and Peeta all played a key role to ensure Katniss Everdeen’s survival. The sponsors and skills Katniss gained, the impressions she made and the need of her to be desirable are all key elements that ensure her survival in the Games. These factors are heavily influenced by Haymitch, Cinna and Peeta’s need to keep Katniss
In the “Hunger Games”, citizens in thirteen districts are subordinates to the citizens of the capital. These subordinates were forced to work for the capital and were given no mercy — there were public beatings for crimes and even their kids were killed on a comical television show for the capital citizens. These ideas, which Suzanne Collins used in her book, can be traced to our own past. Similar to the forced labor and abuse the Capital imposed on the district members in the “Hunger Games”, blacks in early United States were treated very poorly. Ironically, many people living in the United States after the Revolutionary War were still oppressed, slavery still existed, and discrimination was prevalent. Slavery did get banned in the
