“The Hunger Games” book and film are similar and different. These similarities and differences show how the film and the book can be either apart from each other or alike. The changes made in the movie have an effect on what the characters feel and what they think. “The Hunger Games” book and movie are similar in many ways. First, there are many similarities like when Katniss and Prim goes to the reaping and Prim gets called, but Katniss volunteers as tribute. Also, Katniss and Prim’s dad dies in the mine explosion. Fast forwarding to Peeta and Katniss are in the parade they have their outfits on fire. Peeta gets an 8 out of 12 and Katniss gets an 11 out of 12. There are several differences between the book and movie adaptation of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Some of these similarities are very clearly portrayed in the story, and several of the differences made profound changes in my perception of the story line. These changes included plot and the way the story was told.
By comparing and contrasting both the novel and the movie, The Hunger Games, I have found at least three themes. In the novel, love is conveyed throughout the story more than the movie. In the movie, friendship is conveyed a bit more through the movie than the novel. And finally, survival is the vital overall theme in both the movie and novel. Even though the theme is portrayed in different ways, survival plays the biggest part in The Hunger Games.
Have you ever wondered if authors purpose and filmmakers purpose have to be the same? Imagine having everyone split into twelve different districts, knowing two kids/teens from each district was yearly going into war trying to survive for their own lives. In the Hunger Games, even though both book and movie may have the same stance. The purpose of the author of the book is to inform because it only shows what is happening with Katniss, the main character, and in the movie the author's purpose is to entertain because they show you more action and what’s going on with everyone.
Often thought to be irrelevant are ancient texts such as Beowulf. Although written in completely different times and societies these ancient texts can closely correlate with more contemporary texts such as The Hunger Games. The way these two different types of texts, both contemporary and older epic texts, begin to show similarities is the way that epic heroes are portrayed. Often all texts, epic or new, follow the monomyth or hero's cycle. They also portray the protagonist; possessing certain heroic traits that classify them as epic heroes. The reason why people don't think the older texts are relevant is because of the way that objects, people or places are symbolised. However the differences in the symbolism are because the theme and issues of the text are suited to fit the society of the time.
In general, Stereotyping affect not only the youth of today but also other individuals. An individual can be stereotyped based on race, skin color, class warfare or gender. The book, The Hunger Games, which is now a well-known movie, demonstrates how stereotyping can happen to any individual. In The Hunger Games, Katniss is affected by stereotypes. Being a citizen from District 12, her appearance and being a female affects the way the Capitol distinguishes her.
What do You think is always better? The original writing of a story with details and background information of characters or a live action movie with hype and intense scenes’ with loud scary music to make you feel nervous while watching. The Hunger games written by Susan Collins begins with a character Katniss everdeen volunteers for her sister when her sister is picked to go and fight in the hunger games with another Kid named Peeta Mellark were there are 24 tributes(Or representatives of districts only kids from 12-18 go to fight)and 1 must win to be the victor of a blood-bath game but after the games Katniss and peeta win but between president snow (President of the hunger games) and Katniss a bad relationship is formed. The Hunger games book is better than movie because the literary devices used such as characterization, detail and imagery, help the reader to better understand scenes and has a stronger emotion impact. The book is better than the movie because the characterization is used always used when a new character is introduced.
Turning books into movies has become common practice over the last few years. Popular books to do this with are Young Adult novels as they appeal to a large age group. One story line that was popular in both book and movie form was The Hunger Games series which was written by Suzanne Collins and directed by Gary Ross and then Francis Lawrence. It followed a young girl named Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) as she fights a battle to the death in the post-apocalyptic world of Panem. Through the use of setting, costumes, and character development, this movie develops the theme of independence and government control that show why our government system is important.
Culture is an essential component in one's life, sometimes the very important one. It is even crazier to see how much culture has changed over time. Civilization and our society are complete with culture. Politics, literature, music, technology, clothes, trends, fads, etc. are all incorporated into our culture. Now a day you can see our culture play out in the books we read, the music we listen to, the things we see and more. For instance, you can see it really play out in the novel by Dave Egger’s, The Circle, and the novel turned motion picture, The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. Though the film The Hunger Games mainly covers the prominence of survival as well as trusting your benevolence and self-worth as one tries to survive. The Circle, however, is more of a technological satire unlike The Hunger Games, in the novel you see a newbie pretty much try to find and figure her way out in the worlds most prominent company. Both these individuals face many obstructions but the foremost relation that will be the focal point of this paper is that Katniss Everdeen and Mae Holland have been placed in situations amongst their dystopian societies that will define who they will become including partaking in their female roles for their society. A dystopia is a concocted society depicted by coercion, immorality and many other character traits that contests the most picture-perfect society. The society that is created in this film fits the one a dystopian society portrays. The

The Hunger Games, directed by Gary Ross, and Maze Runner, directed by Wes Ball, are films with similar themes such as heroism, dystopian world and sacrifice. Both films involve killing of innocent lives by authorities in charge as a mean to find peace. The Maze Runner is about finding a cure of civilisation whilst the The Hunger Games uses the competitions in order to control the population and prevent an uprising. Katniss in the film is a 16 year old girl who volunteers as a tribute in the competition. Thomas is also a 16 year old Glader who was forced to be inside the maze by the Creators. The themes and filming techniques used by Gary Ross and Wes Ball in both in their will be compared in order to see the similarities. There are two
In District 12 of Panem, 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen is walking to meet her friend, Gale, a boy she seems to like, in the woods so they can do some hunting for food. As she’s walking, she thinks about her mother and her younger sister, Prim, who is 12 years old. They have depended on Katniss for food ever since their father died in a mine explosion when Katniss was 11.
