Taking a look back at the beginning of the semester, I can see how much I’ve learned over the last three months. This course helped me grow not only as a student, but also as a person. It taught me the importance of wanting to learn, to study and to always do my best.

As I acknowledge the many different writings accomplished through this course, I have to say the one I loved the most was the narrative essay. Even though it was my first essay, and I didn’t own many skills in the writing field, it helped me establish a connection between the reader and the writer.

Considering the different writing styles, narrating a story is one of my strongest methods of writing. The way you bring a reader into the place and time of your story, making them picture, sense and feel something you lived, it’s the main reason why I loved this piece the most. Evaluating my overall grades through the semester, the narrative essay along with the summary essay were the pieces I earned the highest points.

In addition, the summary essay was the second piece I obtained the highest grade, but gave me the most struggle to accomplish it. The hardest part was to shorten the length of the article or written piece and putting it in my own words.

I learned that paraphrasing does not mean copying word by word from the article, but describing it in your own words without changing the meaning of the author. If I was able to change something prior to accomplishing this assignment, I would have changed the
