The two epic poems, The Iliad and The Odyssey, are both credited to Homer furthermore occur through the span of ten years. These two poems compliment one another by telling two unique stories that both offer knowledge to the Trojan War, the Trojan Horse, and the funeral of Achilles. Many of the same characters can be found in both poems. They both manage the battles and hardship of mortal life. The immaculateness of ladies are tried in these sonnets. Nausicaa is a regarded virgin princess and Penelope is referred to and regarded as a righteous lady who fights off lewd men trying to lay down with her, while Clytemnestra shames her spouse and disrespects herself by submitting infidelity. The Iliad is a poem telling the tale of many (Achilles, Hector, the gods, etc.), while the Odyssey is primarily the tale of Odysseus. The two …show more content…

Odysseus is the leading character in the Odyssey. The Odyssey deals with Odysseus striving to return home and the morals of mortals are critiqued by Zeus. While Achilles challenges his commander Agamemnon and abhors devious behavior, Odysseus uses trickery to survive and overcome obstacles. It opens with Zeus considering mortal undertakings. He talked among the deathless ones about the indiscretion that mortals endure by their own particular hands. Aegisthus, cousin of Agamemnon betrayed his trust with Clytemnestra, Agamemnon's wife, and after that helped her to murder Agamemnon. He proceeded to illuminate how Orestes killed Aegisthus and his mother to strike back for his father's passing and how this the aggregate of what could have been kept up a vital separation from in case he would have taken the notification that Hermes gave him before this happened to heart and swore off betrayal.
