Introduction
The issue that we have collectedly decided to produce a report upon is question 2; ‘discuss whether the UK should integrate further within the EU.’

A big reason for choosing this particular topic was the fact that this is such a topical, well-covered and much discussed issue within the UK right now. This is mainly due to the fact that as part of Conservative leader David Cameron’s manifesto in his electoral campaign in 2015, he had promised to carry out a the much desired referendum on whether the UK should remain within the EU or not (should the Tories be voted into power).

Due to the fact that the Tories were indeed voted into power, the referendum is scheduled to take place at some point within 2017, further intensifying this hot debate as to whether the UK should remain within the EU and integrate further or leave altogether.

The impact of UK further integrating within EU on economy
The European Union is such a large politico-economic union that it plays a major role in the whole world’s economy. Although “the process of European Integration progressed over time both in depth and in extent” (Campos, et al., 2014, p. 6), it has been working on integration for over 30 years and the results are good at present as it is now providing benefits in GDP, labour markets, trading and many other aspects for its 28 member countries, including the United Kingdom.
