It is evident that the tradition of volunteerism may have a profound impact on American Society. To some extent, we tend to agree that recruiting methods can be critical for both the decision to volunteer and the settings in which adult people volunteer. Accordingly, Florida Hospital staff believe that volunteers and interns are an important part of their commitment to world-class healthcare and their goal of "extending healing through the ministry of Christ (Volunteers n.d.)." On a significant level, we might need to find out the best recruiting strategies and implementing ideas on how to increase such a vital volunteer population.
For instance, the best recruiting strategies will be depending on the way the hospital services feed the immediate need of the community. We can begin with a powerful message that volunteering and interning will save life. Accordingly, volunteering can help to provide people with ways out of poverty, by giving them new skills and confidence, and aid social integration (James, 2018).

In my time volunteering at the hospital, I hope to gain many different experiences. However, there are a few main ones: adaptation through enrichment and dependability. First of all, I want to get to know and adapt to the environment of the hospital and learn how different processes work. This is a crucial part of being in the atmosphere of a clinic. Also, the experiences that I will have at the hospital will help me to understand the routines and entailments of the career I would like to pursue. I hope to become a Physician’s Assistant in the future and this will be the best way to know if it is the right position for me. This enrichment of my understanding will help guide my passion for this career path and hopefully strengthen it.
Most people find volunteering a fulfilling and rewarding experience. However, I do not always feel that way. Sometimes I feel like my work is not very enjoyable or that it contributes little to helping others. Thankfully, at Maliheh Free Clinic, I felt not only that my work was fun and helpful but that I was part of a family--a family of volunteers, doctors, and patients. My internship at Maliheh taught me the joy of helping others through dedication and hard work.
My nature to serve attracts me to the Houston Methodist Summer Teen Volunteer Program. My goals are to gain experience and knowledge about careers in medicine, and to give back to the community. I would like to learn a lot about how people live by the ways they get hurt or how they deal with being sick. It’s a good study of human behavior because you see people at their highest and lowest extremes of emotion. To further my goal of pursuing a career in medicine, it is important for me to get hands on experience of serving people and executing work in a responsible manner. When a person donates their time, they give hope to someone who needs it. I feel that I will be also benefited because I get to see how my contribution has made a difference.
Volunteering at Texas Health Presbyterian Plano is my way of giving back to the community while developing critical social skills, and gaining important medical field exposure along the way. It’s an opportunity to change a person’s life, including my own. Often as we grow our schedules we forget to acknowledge the fact that our name does not read “volunteer needed”. Reducing volunteer turnover involves several aspects of trauma informed care, including: empowerment, voice, and choice and collaboration and mutuality (SAMHSA’s Trauma and Justice Strategic Initiative, 2014). Firstly, it must be acknowledged that volunteer work is optional and even though volunteers may receive some form of personal benefit from volunteering, they have a choice to commit to the cause. The volunteer program that the RCOC has constructed requires all the people that are interesting to go through a vetting process that all employees, board members, and other persons that working closely with the organization must go through. The potential volunteer must go through a background check, submit a drug screening, have or be able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card, and have a shot record that verifies that they have taken a TB test. The outreach center wanted prospective volunteers take part of these procedures to ensure that the individuals representing the organization have no criminal record and have some sense stability. Before a potential volunteer goes completes the vetting process, they have to submit an online volunteer application, so we can discover their areas of interest, their experience level, and decide if they would be a good fit for the RCOC organization. If we have applicant seems to meet the appropriate criteria they will be selected for an interview. The interview process will include questions as to why they want to volunteer at RCOC, what they want to get out of the experience, and giving them some scenarios that can occur to establish their problem solving skills. After they have successful completed the interview up they will be placed in one of four volunteer departments. RCOC keeps in mind what the individual areas of interest were before making this choice and the volunteers are allowed to float in between departments. The
