Morals, character, integrity, what do these words mean .actually, the question is, do you have them. A man named Dwight Moody once said, "Character is what you are in the dark." You cannot see your morals, character, or integrity, these are only shown as your values. Someone could only show their own values, which are very important to themselves and everyone else. Integrity is the firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values. The way you show your integrity, character, and morals or how they are effect you in either a negative or positive way. There are many causes to how your values are. My goal in life is to help others through a human service degree, and in order to do that I need to commit to a lifetime of personal growth. For me this means understanding who I was by exploring my culture, background, and values that shaped me into the person I am today. I will also need to understand who I am today and how I care for myself to ensure I am best prepared and fit to provide helpful services. Lastly, I will need to identify who I want to become and how I will reach those goals.
It is important because each person deserves respect and each person has their own individual needs. Not every person is the same, and treating a person in the exact same way as everyone else may not be the best way to help show that persons individuality. If you do not recognise and value an individual as a person, you run the risk of devaluing them, and once you’ve done that you also run the risk of them of becoming withdrawn, lacking confidence and upset
Honor, Courage, and Commitment are three core values that has changed me to become a better citizen. First of all, I follow the Navy core values, Honor Courage, and Commitment, outside of JROTC. Like; Being honorable, and having respect for others, treating everyone the same, no one is different and making hard decisions through my JROTC life. As a cadet, I learn from my mistakes. I see the world differently from others. I've noticed I always push myself to do better and I've been thinking about my life after high school, and who I want to become. JROTC is just a small step. When I first joined JROTC, I didn't expect such a dramatic change. Oh no, I didn't.

We are presented with choices every day. Many are easy to make and cause very little stress, but some choices can be extremely difficult and have significant consequences. The difference between making the right choice or the wrong one is often determined be a persons character, which is based upon the qualities of integrity, responsibility, and honesty. Gaining an understanding of these three character traits and how to build them is critical to creating a lifetime of positive outcomes.
Dees highlights several crucial concepts regarding resilient leadership in Chapters 3 and 4. The quality of leadership largely determines the overall upward or downward direction of a company. A resilient leader has the ability to influence people to willingly put forth effort to achieve a goal, which is at the core of being a leader. The most effective leaders recognize how to influence subordinates while moving forward with an effective plan that will benefit all involved. The three most important concepts from Chapter 3 and 4 are integrity, courage, and wisdom.
Integrity is how somebody lives their life. In this life we live, we face choices every day that only we can answer. We dictate how we run our own lives, and they way we run them defines us. Integrity is doing the right thing versus the wrong thing. People, if nothing else, can always have their pride, their integrity. It is something that means a lot to some people and then nothing to others. The ones who value their integrity highly are the good people in this world, and the opposite is true for those who do not value their integrity.
There are multiple values that come to mind that I have a strong belief in, but there is one that I find extremely crucial to being successful in life. This value is what makes a person trustworthy and honorable. I strongly believe that integrity is one of the most important values in my life. Living by this value has changed my life significantly and I seek this value in others as well. Integrity is a great value to live by, it is what makes me a better student, employee, friend and family member.
Freedom: What personal freedoms do you value? What individuals in your life do you feel have the right to intervene regarding your choices (i.e., parents, spouse, children, boss, etc)? Is there a difference in the level of freedom now versus your childhood? Are you willing to give up some freedoms to feel safer? Do you feel that citizens and non-citizens have the different level of freedom?
