My name is Sherman Arend and I am planning to attend Templeton High School. To prepare myself for inside the classroom, I have tried to improve my mind and critical thinking. I try to study a lot for projects and tests, and because of this, I get really good grades. I am responsible and I can collaborate pretty good with others. I try to put my best effort into everything i do, and I try to do the maximum instead of the minimum work required. I don’t do many sports, other than skiing and golf. Perhaps I could try another sport and Templeton though. I do play the piano, but I don’t think that will be an instrument in the school band. However, I’d be happy to try something new in school, even if it is somewhat challenging. I could potentially
Some of the reasons that I believe that I would be a great member of the Manhattan Hunter Science high school is because I am an incredibly social child and is always looking to make new friends. I am is a positive risk taker and a great "team-player" because I am always looking to help my peers who might be struggling. Whenever I do poorly on tests on any exam, I become persistent and work harder to improve. In addition, Manhattan Hunter Science is early college high school that focuses much on science and achieving success for its students. According to Manhattan Hunter Science, “Our mission is to bring alive the power of curiosity and passion in each and every student and to help maximize their academic potential.” With such quality standards
I believe my talent is time management, working hard, and helping others. Being a student-athlete I had to develop time managing early. When I made the girl's varsity basketball team my freshman year I realized just how time-consuming it was. There were days where I woke up at four in the morning to do homework and study for tests, after getting home from a game at nine pm. Learning to handle this full schedule challenged me as a student. It gave me the confidence to go take harder classes after freshman year. Sophomore year I took AP World History and three Honors classes. Junior year, I did so as well. But I’ve really pushed myself this year, because I am taking four AP classes: Environmental Science, Psychology, Calculus, and Government.
Life is a myriad of personal struggles, the depth of which depend wholly on the individual. One can decide to passively exist or proactively contribute. High school, a prime example of this crossroads, offers students a plethora of opportunities to distinguish themselves academically, artistically, and athletically. For me, being a part of my school’s band program has been the outlet that has enabled me to flourish.
Throughout my high school career, I have come to be heavily involved in activities within my high school. I was inducted into National Honor Society in the school year of 2015-2016. I came to be involved in the Drama Club for all four years of my high school career, along with being in Student Council all four years as well. In Student Council, I held the position of treasurer my senior year, and was on the executive board. The music department also has been one of the biggest programs I have come to be involved in within my high school career. I have played alto saxophone in concert band all four years of high school, and played alto saxophone my senior year in jazz band. Along with being in both concert band and jazz band, I was also part
As with most kids, I was a bit nervous about my transition from middle school to high school. One advantage I had was that I participated in band in middle school and planned to be in the band in high school. The Round Rock High School band has a history of excellence and I was looking forward to being a part of that organization. This was an extraordinary time and I looked forward to being a part of the band with great anticipation. Being a part of an organization such as this makes the transition to high school seem much easier and it seemed I had a ready-made group of friends that I could rely on and ask questions of if necessary. After all, the Round Rock High School Band has over 300 members.
The Dr. John Grieco Campus of Bergen County Academies High School appears to be an excellent school for me to attend, and I would love to spend the next four years learning there. Ever since I began sixth grade, it was clear to me that I would want to enroll in this school. I feel that I would make a wonderful addition to this academic institution because I have been an overachieving student all my life. I have participated in school programs such as Advanced Math, WEL (Wyckoff Extended Learning), and TAP (Talented Art Program). I have also been on the Honor Roll at Eisenhower Middle School since the sixth grade. Going to this school would be a fantastic experience, and I hope that I will be accepted.
Hello my name is Hannah Hagen, I go to Saint Rose Catholic School. In less than a year I hopefully will be attending Paso Robles High School. I want to participate in the magazine club; I always have loved to interact with others and I love to do creative writing. In my school I give input on each subject, I’m a very vocal person. While others might view that as a negative trait but I think that it is very good to speak your mind and voice your opinion. I volunteer at the local food shelter and feed the hungry. I also participate in volleyball and basketball. I’ve been playing sports my whole life and plan to play different kinds. At my school I participate in the technology program; it is one of my favorite
I am a hardworking-dedicated student, who focuses on my studies, yet I have enjoyed every second of being involved in extracurricular activities. I am enrolled in all honors, dual credit, and AP courses. While at Preston High, I was a varsity football and basketball cheerleader. I also ran the 200m sprint and pole vaulted on the varsity track team. I adapted excellent leadership skills through Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). I attended the National FBLA convention
I have, honestly, always performed to my best ability in all of my classes and I will continue to strive for excellence at Bishop Noll. I am very motivated and extremely hardworking in the classroom. My elementary and middle school grades on a difficult scale and is very competitive, but I have always managed to get high grades. My two older brothers have always motivated me to perform my best in school, and if I didn’t have them to push me I definitely would not have the self-determination and stamina that I do now. I have been on A or A-B honor roll for as long as I can remember but that is not because I am gifted or extraordinary, it is because I work extremely hard, have had excellent examples and teachers, and am incredibly motivated. I am very proud of the grades I have gotten and the work that I have done at my current school, and I look forward to achieving all of the goals that I have for myself in high
Many students worry about how their middle school years will go. Middle school is a very important part of a student’s education. Middle school is their initiation into high school and could really impact their future. Many elementary school students think that they are prepared and can do well in middle school, but many are not ready. Also, students who do not do well in middle school tend to not do well in high school. One lesson I would like to teach elementary school students is how to survive middle school, which is important because it will lead them to a better future by being prepared, managing time, and knowing how to problem solve.
As a student, I have always strived to do my best work. This determination also carries over into the rest of my life, including athletics, community service, and other extracurricular activities. I am currently a junior at POLYTECH High School and am a student in the Criminal Justice technical area. I am a member of the National Honor Society and our school-wide SkillsUSA chapter. Outside of school, I am a very active member of my church youth group and work often with the Knights of Columbus in community service efforts. I participate in shot put and discus with the school track team, and I also play volleyball. Through dedication and hard-work, I have managed to maintain high grades over the past three years of school and earn a rank of fourth in my class.
Imagine living in a world where everyone is the same. Everyone shares the same ethnicity, language, background, cultures. Living in Miami, for me, this is a hard concept to imagine. My whole life I've been surrounded by different cultures, people who speak different languages, eat different foods, share different stories and backgrounds. Attending Monsignor Edward Pace High School my ninth grade year changed nothing. Pace was, and still is a direct representation of the city of Miami, a cultural melting pot, filled with so many different seasoning of backgrounds. With this melting pot filled with so many different seasonings, however, it becomes easy for the hot water to rise, and feel as if there isn't any commonalities to share. As a young adult, I use my influence on my peers, to stir this melting pot to remind young people, who are essentially the futures of tomorrow, that in all our differences, there is still so much similarities.
Being a student at Washington Community High School, I put forth my best effort to involve myself in academics, athletics, school clubs, and volunteer work. During my freshman year of high school, I committed myself towards music to a great extent. I performed in the marching band, the Jefferson and Wilmor Contemporary Music Project bands, the Symphonic Winds top concert band, and the pep band. In addition to music, I competed in several athletic activities, including cross country and track. Furthermore, I participated in a considerable amount of school-sponsored clubs such as the Student Council, the Freshman Executive Board, the Washington Leadership and Community Service Club, the Spanish Club, and the Mathletes Team. Throughout my
My name is Ella Pedigo, and I am extremely nervous and excited for the year ahead. I went to Abernethy Elementary school over in SE for K-8 and I absolutely loved it! For my first two years of middle school I went to Hosford Middle school which is also in SE, however the teaching style there did not work for me, so I transferred to Laurelhurst K-8 for my last year of middle school, I enjoyed every second of it! I would definitely say that i'm quite outgoing, and tend to get bored easily and space out easily. Im also very active and when I sit in one spot for too long I lose focus and begin to get side tracked. I am for sure a visual learner and produce much better work when I have a visual or example to go off of.
My father always taught me that a person cannot truly grow unless they are uncomfortable. Comfort may seem favorable on the surface level, however it does not foster an environment for excelling. This ideology is what convinced me that moving from Bartlett to Atlanta my senior year would be integral for growth to occur. Living in Bartlett provided stability, friends, and even a job I enjoyed. I always viewed life from the perspective of a suburban teenager, however my views lacked variance. Now being in an urban city environment for three months has presented visible growth in my social skills and even religious understanding.
