“When you’re part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through the good and the bad because you’d know they’d do the same for you.” This quote is said by Yogi Berra. Being a teammate is more than just being on a team with someone. What I’m about to share is exactly why I love being a teammate, and why being on a team has changed me for the better. Being on a team has showed me that I have a second family. When you're on any sports team you see them a lot. Everyday after school for two hours, every saturday for two hours, open fields, two a days, long bus rides, and also at school. You might even see the at church on sunday, who knows. You’re with the same people a lot, and seeing people a lot
Growing up with a big family, sports have been a central part of each one of our lives. All four of my older sisters were involved in high school athletics as well. This allowed us to share something in common and was a great opportunity to bond with each other. No matter what hardships we faced, sports were there to help us come together. For example, when my dad was unemployed for two years he was able to come and watch all of mine and my sisters games. It really brought us closer as a family because we were always there supporting each other. Eventually, my parents no longer were able to pay the house bill with my dad being unemployed. Our house was then foreclosed and we had no other choice but to move. We moved into the town of Capac by the high school. Times were tough and money was limited, but we still made the most of our time together. We would all go to the softball fields at the school and play softball or a big game of football. Sports gave us something to bond over our whole lives and I’ll always cherish
What makes a good team member is someone who looks out for everyone and is there for you no matter what. Someone who is always willing to help out the team and team mates individually as well.
Any of the numerous team sports are a perfect example for this, especially at an amatuer level. Becoming a family member starts off with the introductions, practices leading up to the first game that will set a tone for the entire season. As the season kept churning along, all these former strangers thought of just one acceptable result: winning the championship together. Every former stranger begins giving it their all, not for themselves but for the good of the team. At this point, they have become family. The immense amounts of trust and respect for one another, as well as the selflessness becoming increasingly prevalent between these people is second to none. Sadly, they have become a more accurate representation of family than a daughter-- who was too “busy” to call on christmas-- is to her
Reflecting on experience is an important capability for an individual to be able to move forward. As (SOURCE) said, “(CONTEXT”). Moreover, individuals ought to be able to work not only individually, but also to work together in a group. Working with other people, especially whom you have not known is not as easy as it seems. In fact, it is quite difficult to develop an effective team. Through this reflection essay on the group presentation that I did last Monday, I have become more aware of useful strategies to deal with issues and understand what could be improved for future presentations. Developing teamwork skills is am important benefit for me as future professional workers.
In healthcare settings a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach is required to provide a safe and quality holistic care for patients. To achieve this, the different healthcare professionals must work together in order to achieve their goals and promote patient safety. This assignment aims to explore the importance of team work in healthcare. In addition it will consider the qualities and behaviours of a team leader as well as the team behaviours necessary for effective team performance.
When I tell people I am from Phoenix, Arizona, they look at me funny and ask, “What are you doing in Connecticut?” My response is always the same, “I’m on the UConn women’s basketball team.” Sport has played a large role in my life and has definitely impacted me. My parents were key factors that helped me get to where I am now. Both of my parents were college athletes. My father played basketball at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Before that, he was an all-state basketball player, tennis player and pitched for his high school baseball team. My mother played tennis at Marquette University. She was voted most valuable player all four years and won the prestigious McCahill Award as the university’s top student-athlete her senior year. She came from a tennis family. Her two sisters, her dad, and several uncles played college tennis. Her father, like her, won the McCahill award as Marquette’s top student-athlete. To this day, they are the only father-child combination to win the award. My parents met in line for drug testing when they were both athletes at Marquette. With parents so into athletics, it is not surprising that they decided early on in their relationship that their children would play sports. They decided my brother and I would participate in sports at a young age and knew that sports would teach us valuable life lessons.
It allows the collaboration of athletes to come together and create a family. This produces a form of brotherhood, each one reliant on one another. For example, April moved from Chicago to Washington and didn’t know a single soul much less than where she was. She loved the thrill of playing volleyball and she decided to go out for the team. After joining the team, her horizons were expanded to different characters, attitudes and personalities. She learned the values of dependability, friendship, patience, accountability, and received support from her teammates. A wise man once said, “Don’t walk behind me, I may not lead. Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.”
My Dad and my grandfather never share a lot of time together when my dad was growing up. Nevertheless something that they both shared was the ability to play the sport of baseball. This particular sport became instead of money and property that is what the majority of people give to their children. Baseball became the family heritage that my grandparent taught to my dad and my dad taught to me. Consequently I growing up all my life playing baseball. The ability to play baseball gave me the opportunity to be the captain on various occasion with different teams. Being at this position made me in the role of being a leader among my teammates. Being a leader required pay attention to all details don’t matter how simple or difficult they are. So, at this stage of my life I had the chance to learn that in baseball all the players are called teammates because obviously they are in the same team, but not everybody would be considerate teammates. The different style of baseball players can’t affect the relationship and development of other personal players that consequently
on the team,I defer to it and sacrifice for it,because the team, not the individual ,is the ultimate champion”
Many people are excellent at showing sportsmanship and teamwork while playing a sport or in their everyday life. Morelia Sanchez was definitely one of them. Morelia played lacrosse in her sophomore year at Kennedy High School. I interviewed her about her definition of sportsmanship and teamwork, and also how she uses them in her everyday life. Morelia’s definition of sportsmanship is to make an effort and give it your all (and hopefully win). “Knowing how to lose is also important when playing any sport” she says as we all experience losing at one point or another. Teamwork also plays a big role when playing any sport. Morelia explained that teamwork to her is getting along with her teammates, as well as trying to have a good communication
“A good teammate is someone willing to get outside of personal thoughts and emotions, a friend who tries to understand, appreciate, and encourage other members of the team.” This is a quote from Don Kardong, a United States Olympic runner. Webster’s dictionary says that the word teammate means “a person who is on the same team as someone else.” However, to me, this word means a lot of other things too. A teammate motivates you to do your best, they help you at practice or at your job, and makes sure that nobody on the team is left out.
" It means not being a selfish player," Senior Ashley Gonzales said. "Putting your teammates before yourself and having each other backs."
Team Player Have you ever heard these quotes: “There is no “i” in team but there is in win” - Michael Jordan. “Teamwork makes the dream work, but a vision becomes a nightmare when the leader has a big dream and a bad team”- John C. Maxwell Those are two famous quotes by Michael Jordan and John C. Maxwell about teamwork. Do you know what a team player is? A team player is a person who puts his personal goals or wants aside to achieve a common goal between the team, has good communication skills, and can be reliable consistently.
Realizing that a group can become a high performance team is important. Accomplishing this goal is invaluable, advantageous and profitable. Once able to operate from a group to the high performing team is a great step into preparation into the big business world. Leaders and members must also realize not only how to accomplish this but that some problems will and can arise from different demographic characteristics and cultural diversity. That is if one is in such a group, which the probability would be quite high.
An effective care for patients can be achieved through the collaboration and team work within the certain health care teams to provide a focused and shared learning in health professional education, which can help enhance the outcome of the patient’s needs.1 Working with different professionals and care givers can lead to issues. This can be looked upon so that the patient is given good service and enhanced care.
