High school is always considered some of the best years of life. Students live with their families, see their friends almost everyday, and participate in the activities they love with the people they love. It has enough freedom for the student to decide how hard they will try, but it also has just the right amount of restrictions that parents can step in to make the student work. High school also gives students many opportunities to succeed and keep letting them try again if they fail. For example, a math teacher may allow a student to retake two test throughout a semester, but if the student proves that they are trying in the class then the teacher may allow them to retake a few more tests. He also believes that all students should take part in school or college activities. However, he also mentions that the important of being sociable by participates in activity clubs because it adds a flavor of fun and sometimes it help the students to be better leaders.

In college you will meet new people and they will offer you help in many ways. Say you were really struggling in a class like chemistry if your friend was good in chemistry he or she could be of great aid. The friends you make in college is bonds that could be for life possibly. Say you need a ride to your job you call your friend from college that you always hang with and they could be helpful.

It’s a known fact that college is vastly different from high school, and in a general sense, that’s very true. College is full of new challenges and opportunities to prepare for the future. Along with harder classes and independance, college is also about socializing with fellow students in an environment in which everyone is always on the move. Having connections can lead to future success within an industry as well as people to communicate with and work with while in college. In high school, it is easy to make connections with people because of the way class schedules work: four classes a day, five days a week. Compared to high school schedules, College schedules are free-form, with class number and class type varying by the day, and, as such, it’s more difficult to connect with other students. The easiest way to create meaningful connections with other students is by joining a school club. Co-curricular organizations are usually more constructive than extracurricular, as co-curricular relate to a selected major while extracurricular relate to hobbies. Ideally, it’s best to try and find a balance between co-curricular and extracurricular clubs. For example, three clubs I, someone dual majoring in computer science and music composition, hope to become involved with during my college career are the game development club, the art club, and Code.life.

“The friends you find in college; will be the friends you have for life.” Many individuals indicate this statement is true, and now I can claim that I understand the quote stated above with a firsthand experience. Enrolling in Indian River State College possesses the privilege to interact with many international students. I have obtained strong bonds across diverse cultural groups as a result of; social gatherings, or regularly having meals together. I remain immensely grateful for the relationships I have obtained with the international students.

High school allows you to be mature while also being able to act like a teenager. You will get more out of your teenage years if you don’t graduate early. It will allow you to make some mistakes and learn new life lessons, that you may not have learned without your senior year. Your high school experience shapes you to be the person you are once you leave high school and go out into the real world. Without it you would be missing out on having fun with your friends, trying new things, and making a plethora of

adulthood and/or career, although high schools do not necessarily teach students everything they need to know about life after high school; such as credit, finding a job, taxes, etc.

I expect to try a lot of new things to find out what I really enjoy to do and what I don't like. These years are when people start to think of you as adults with responsibilities and not kids that act up too much.

Once a child graduates from elementary school and goes on to high school, he or she is already molded into the person he or she will be for the rest of his or her life. Sure all kids become more mature within those four years, but their values are still the same, and in some cases even stronger. In most circumstances, a child will use what they learned in the past to make decisions inhe future. High school, however, is important for other reasons as well. High school is the very last step before a student can enter the realm of higher education. Therefore, high school is essentially what prepares a student to go on to bigger and better things. Many students expressed the desire for study groups and more office hours. Currently, the teacher is holding office hours whenever possible, and although that is limited by the teachers availability, the formation of a study group is not. A school-sponsored study group can be extremely beneficial for students who may otherwise feel awkward asking a classmate they just met if they would like to study together. One student stated, “Most of what BHS would probably try to offer, most kids seek out on their own. It would be nice to set up a peer study group at a set location on days when teacher is not available if only for the students who don't have friends they feel they can rely on. That way no one feels excluded when it comes to studying, and those who typically cannot rely on teacher or friends have somewhere to go.” From my own experience, all of my advanced courses in high school were filled with at least a few of my friends (perks of going to a smaller school), so finding help was not a huge issue. However, in college, study groups became my life outside the classroom. Last semester, I spent eight hours a week in study groups, and without them, I would have probably had to take a few courses again. Study groups give direction and structure to studying that one may otherwise not have on his or her own. The issue at hand revolves around the fact that people naturally prefer to self segregate themselves into small cliques with similar interests rather than broadening their friend base. College is a place to grow in both an intellectual and psychological way, and if students exclude themselves from making new connections they are interrupting the growing process. This then results in a graduate with few connections and who is not well rounded and unprepared for the real world. If the issue is remedied it will result in students who are more knowledgeable and are better with connecting with other individuals. As a result, when a student graduates college they will not only leave with a mind filled with knowledge but also with a social circle filled with connections and a life of opportunities.

Some people are never able to learn effective study habits in high school. Thus, they may struggle through their first semester of college. A student should figure out how he or she studies the best; many people cannot frantically create a quality essay at four in the morning being sleep deprived and distractions all around like having music and televisions on. Although poor study habits may cause the student to struggle, which results in unhappiness, he can become connected by joining clubs, music groups, or sports that will help a person make more friends while balancing his life, thus making him a happier student. So, students should get involved! School does not have to be limited on schoolwork. One should find an activity that his school offers, and join it if his schedule allows it. Yet, some people have a harder time adjusting to school than other people and may feel that success is impossible. However, a student can achieve happiness in school through academics in many ways, such as by being on time for class, keeping an assignment notebook, and managing his time.
