For some students, the question of what to do after high school may be a burden to even contemplate as it approaches quicker and quicker. The pressure to continue another four (or more) years of education after high school can be overwhelming considering twelve years of schooling has already been completed; why go right back to school again? When’s break time? Some people are simply just not ready for college and they know it, or at least until after they have had a long break or have had some time to recollect themselves. Technically speaking college isn’t for everyone, nor is it necessarily needed for a career. Luckily today, there are many other options that potential career seeking beings can get a head start on such as community colleges and trade/vocational schools. These alternatives to a four year college are considered to be a good start on a job (and maybe even a career). The best benefits of these alternatives involve the cost of attending, the student environment, and the degrees offered.
To many high school students, college seems like a far away land, a mysterious place where everyone wants to be yet not many know how to get there. As children, our parents tell us how much time we have to think about college, and that it is too far down the line to think about. The truth is it is never too early to think about your future. I, like many people, put little thought into my future career and now am lost in an unfortunate mix of indecision and anxiety. Not knowing where you want to be in the future is a hard burden to bear. Many of us tend to find out that we only know what we do not want, not what we actually do want. Do we want to be poor? Absolutely not. Do we want a boring job? Of course we don’t. We all want our
All throughout school, students are ask what we want to be when we grow up. Many of us know or have a pretty good idea, but others have no clue what they want to pursue as a career in life, whether it be furthering their education at a university or attending a technical school. There are other students that plan to start work right out of high school. Either way we all have a plan, and the purpose of this paper is to inform you of mine. I personally struggle in making big decisions like deciding what to do with my life, but then I realized I have been asking myself the wrong questions. Instead of asking what I want to be when I grow up, I asked myself what do I want out of life? what are some of my goals that I wish to achieve? This led
One of the most important decisions in any teenager’s life is what they decide to do after high school, the choice is usually between college and deciding to get a job and start making money. Although the cost of education in America continues to rise, the benefits of a higher education are substantial and can be seen in the success of anyone who has a college degree.
So now that you know about how you can have a good life after high school, what will you do? We can all start by putting our best efforts into what we do in school and planning ahead for college. If we are to succeed, this is going to be the most important factor in achieving what we’re reaching for. So, you can start now by getting up and working, or you can remain seated and not worry about all of that now, but it will matter later. Take the first step and contemplate whether you want to do this yourself and have a bright

The author achieved his purpose of saying Southern Fairs are not as bad as they are commonly concepted as. In addition, people tend to criticize them as too rustic, or too embarrassing. As a student your always told that after high school it is best to pursue a college education the problem is with a college education there comes the issue of how are you going to pay for your education? Many high school students sometimes wonder if continuing their education after high school is truly worth it. Obtaining a four-year degree is a very expensive and time-consuming task. After graduating from college and getting a Bachelor’s degree, the goal is to find a job that fits their chosen profession and earn more money than if they would have not gone to secondary school. The worry of many students is that they will not be able to achieve this goal in finding a job with their degree or that the pay will not be worth it as they are paying off loans after graduation. People have different opinions on the matter and some do not even consider that college is not worth the money. The real question of concern is whether colleges are assisting students towards their goal and if the time and money spent on the degree is worth it to the student and family.
“As many as one in three first-year students won't make it back for sophomore year” (“Freshmen retention rate”). It just so happened that I followed that statistic. Many colleges do not care much if students drop out or flunk out once their tuition checks have been cashed (Los Angeles Times).Growing up in a very strict household and attending private Catholic school, I was ready to spread my wings and fly. I was looking forward to that independence, my own rules and living on my own. I was enthusiastic to get started on my college journey. In my mind, I was about to live the dream. I would experience my own place to live, no rules, and get to hang out with friends! Oh, and college, too. I was not prepared to be so distracted
When thinking about the future, college is usually the first option on student’s mind. It is the place to go if someone wants to have a successful life, but there is more than one way to get to a destination and that applies to life after high school to. College is important, but careful considerations need to be put in on the debt that would have to be paid back, the other options that are available that could earn as much as a person with a degree, and the stigma of not going to college because there are many different roads that can lead to success.
To succeed in life, people think they need to have jobs. For good reason too, for people must have jobs to afford the necessary items like car payments, food, rent or a mortgage, etc. Unfortunately, college students do not usually learn the skills that they should know to succeed in the workforce. Some students may think that a degree will automatically obtain them a job, however, in some situations it simply serves as a minimum requirement. Even though some colleges have applicable majors that help, many colleges still have antiquated teaching techniques. I would like to present some things that colleges should improve on, and some that colleges should start doing.
Aaron , not graduating high school too long ago talks about how it's important for people to learn what they're interested and skills that they will actually need and use, unlike what a lot of courses and teachers teach students on.
After one graduates from high school, they are thrown in to adult life. Adult life is scary, uncharted territory for most young adults. When we are thrown straight in to life without the proper life skills to conquer it, life can quickly become overwhelmingly stressful. In a 2014 study conducted of recent high school graduates, 83% of students reported some gaps in their education when asked how their high school education prepared them for life and, or, college. (Kirst) If high school students are leaving high school without skills such as basic communication, financial literacy, and social skills, we are breeding a generation of young adults who cannot properly care for themselves.
