The Importance Of Cultural Engagement In The Culture

Christians should engage in the culture by being there for their community in the most beneficial ways possible. Cultural engagement has an amazing impact on anyone who chooses to participate. God will show up through the individual and their community to make it a better and safer place. Cultural engagement, to me, is to consume and partake in the environment around us through the lens of Jesus Christ. Be there for people even though they might not think, act, or look like you. Some Christians have it in their minds that they are only in debt to Christians when, in reality, we are to serve everyone, Christian or not, with love and equality. “Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God Create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our ancestors by being unfaithful to one another”- Malachi 2:10. This verse summed up what Cultural Engagement is about, loving and caring for everyone. Cultural engagement is important for Christians and SEU students because it helps us to connect with people who might be far away from God. If people see Christians walk in the path of Christ they will see that God is really for them, they will see that they are also worthy of God’s love and compassion. Christians have a duty to spread the gospel through their actions of being more like God.
