Funding the Near Future Tax payer money can be payed forward to superior factions of the U.S. government like the education system. School systems are underfunded, education should be a top priority, and the reaping of the payments can be returned directly back through tax payers with their children succeeding with degrees. The best way to ensure America’s future is with healthy funds from Americans who are behind what they are financially supporting; thus, that support is to the one thing that holds up society and is the priority to parents or guardians: Education.
In modern times, state governments are dealing with a budget crisis concerning public schools. These problems stem from lack of good representation in the law-making bodies

Those trained young adults are now qualified for specialty careers and higher wages. Along with a higher form of education, the necessary skills learned in school and college may make a well-rounded individual. This can have an overall effect on society when most of its members are generally good, bright individuals, thus less crime. Those who chose to have careers, especially in the sciences, can change the world; when there are more hands on a problem or task, then it has an improved probability to be solved. Imagine the problem of climate change or fuel efficiency being solved by the world’s future leading scientists; these brilliant people have to start somewhere. That somewhere is elementary school and likely public high schools.
Americans may not be motivated or exactly congenial to pay taxes to the government. But when the quality of life for their children is on the line, it may be a factor to encourage a different mindset. Tax payers can see the effect of their payments when local schools slowly improve in rating, graduate numbers, and test scores. The students could improve in IQ and ACT scores just from better resources that come with sufficient funding. Plus, the tax payers, and maybe parents, can even get a sense of reward and

Although the balance of power between the national government and the states has changed over the years, the federalist system is a fundamental part of the U.S. government (The White House, 2013). The states sponsor important programs to fund education, help troubled cities and provide social services. At the local level, the municipalities control a number of other services and regulations, but never fail to be in collaboration between the national, state and local governments. The constitution was put into place to support and defend the basic right of civilians of the United States (Marchant, 2003). Although the Constitution does not refer to education, operation and management of schools is made, particularly with respect to amendments to protect individual rights of students, faculty and staff. With these set laws into place to hold our country
Education is the foundation to secure an individual in having a better future and a successful career in life. Public education primarily falls upon the state and local government to take charge of, which get divided up into local school districts that are managed by school boards. School boards are “ an elected body corporate which manages delegated powers in regards to the deliver of education service within a defined territory (Duhaime’s Law Dictionary)”. Each state “has its own department of education and laws regulating finance, the hiring of school personnel, student attendance, and curriculum (Corsi-Bunker, Antonella).
Sometimes I wonder if my personal political ideology will be a challenge to my teaching; as much as Americans try to boast about getting involved with and supporting their community, that wars with their personal piece of the American dream pie. To have their own success, particularly financially as that seems to be the direction for most, doesn’t mean sharing their personal wealth with the less fortunate in the community. Understanding that I tread precipitously close to the edge of socialism and communism, I still don’t see much in the way of society as a whole here in the U.S. sacrificing their personal gain [financially] for the advancement of the poor. Not only these chapters but study after study, article after article, can make a clear connection between wealthy suburbs with wealthy tax bases supporting the best schools with the best facilities and the best teachers producing the best students. So why can’t the money be redistributed more appropriately? Why don’t Americans want to share their fortune with the lesser? It’s because that is not the American dream: what’s theirs is theirs and will only serve to make them more successful. If others cannot succeed with what they have or what they can do, that is on them. The lack of a
Indirectly, or directly, one can argue, public schools are controlled by the federal and state governments. Several issues have emerged, because of the conflict between federal and state requirements for education. “Under the Tenth Amendment, any authority not given specifically to the federal government is reserved to the states. Thus, the federal government has no authority to regulate education directly; that belongs to the states” (Underwood, n. d., p. 2). To get around this, the federal government controls the schools through funds for complying with certain initiatives, procedures, and policies (Underwood, n. d.). Ironically, both the state and federal levels of government hold the district liable for implementing different agendas and legal obligations. The federal government, however, can ensure that no citizen is denied their rights or privileges, even in a private institution, because of the Bill of Rights and other amendments. Failure to comply by these amendments or statutes can lead to the loss of federal funding and legal reproductions for schools.
What is the role of public schools? Who should be governing public schools? This paper will address each side of these educational issues as well as offer a position statement and an action plan.
The United States deficit, surplus, and debt will always have an impact on taxpayers. In the state of high deficit the government seeks ways to cut and save money for debt payment. The government does this by pulling funding from programs that have little government impact. Increasing taxes also supplies the government with extra income. In addition to the reduction or elimination of certain tax credits, the government analyzes school funding for cost effectiveness. Each step the government takes has a trickling effect on taxpayer’s dollar.
Among the few nationally discussed topics today almost everyone can agree on is that our educational system needs serious repair. School buildings are in a physical state of neglect. Teachers are struggling. US school rankings are below average internationally, and graduation rates are at an all time low. The primary contributing factors for this are economic. Sadly, our society has allowed government administrations to place education at the low end of the federal budget with indisputable results. Our current policies on education do not support the needs of all students through inadequate prioritization, inequitable funding, and the devaluation of educators.
Introduction United States of America has a distinctive provision of the public education system. The education structure is a documentation of a right provided in the 10th amendment. The unique features of the education system allocate freedom of an establishment of a state’s public education structure. This legal interpretation exhibits minimal jurisdiction to matters related to the formulation of a given public education configuration.
On April 26th, 2011, the Thomas Fordham Institute hosted a debate regarding school boards in the 21st century. Four panelists discussed the validity and importance of school boards. While the panelists disagreed on several points, all parties felt that school boards are still important in today’s society. Although school boards are still vital at a certain level, serious concerns were also presented during the panel discussion regarding the traditional practices of governance and localized centers of control within school boards today.
In the year 2015 citizens is more likely to not go to college, they choose not to go only because they cannot afford it. If the government pay for college there will be less unemployed people in the United States; They will have better jobs and be able to pay more taxes. Teachers and presidents say education is important and (stay in school). Yet, college tuition is too expensive. Many people don’t know that the government federal spending on unemployment will go down which would be a good thing because we are plainly in debt.
Some of these include Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Income, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Earned Income Tax Credit, Food Stamps, Medicare, and Medicaid (Kelsey, lect. 09/28/15). Due to various budget cuts for these programs, the “government spending and funding which once benefitted society” no longer applies (Kelsey, lect. 10/05/15). Although it has been proven that “American government policy does reduce inequality by aiding the poor”, the U.S. “does less than any other advanced nation to reduce poverty through government benefits” (Fischer, 1996). Even though the United States is one of the wealthiest nations in the world, it seems to be failing in establishing laws and programs that help the poor. What is frightening, however, is that these policies are many times the ways in which class differences are reduced and how individuals escape poverty. Jesse and Cheryl for example would not have had access to higher education without the funding for some of these policies. The success of these educational policies is what allowed them to escape the cycle of poverty that many families face. The access to higher education is detrimental, because “educational attainment seems to be the key variable for upward mobility in the United States” (Giddens 2014). Therefore, by failing to implement the necessary funding and focus that education needs, the United States is failing many individuals to receive the opportunity of an education and escape their current economic situation. In other words, Putnam summarizes how “poor kids now are in much worse shape than their counterparts
The government may hold the view that spending federal taxes on the military is the safest and most efficient option because they know where their money is going to, however, Nicholas Barr argues that ”The historical record shows that tax finance has done little to widen access, while, as noted, tax finance is deeply regressive. If it is unfair to ask graduates to pay more of the cost of higher education, it is even more unfair to ask non-graduate taxpayers to do so.” It concerns the government, as well as citizens, who are taxpayers that their money goes to a good cause and it is right to believe that students are responsible for their education; if they pay towards a higher education, then their schooling will mean more to them so it would be a waste to pay tuition for students who are not responsible with their education or who may not even have a plan for their future and go to college, at most, to make connections and obtain a degree to easily find work in the future since most jobs require a college degree.
United States citizens devote a significant portion of their incomes to educate future generations through the taxes they pay, and the resultant expenditures of federal, state, and local governments on education. As the epigraph of this essay suggests active participation in a competitive global economy will be required of future tax payers, if we (the people of California) desire to create an environment in our state in which individuals can continue to pursue personal, public, and economic growth.
Tax supported education was deemed necessary by Thomas Jefferson and many other constituents. Taxation for education was an insurance premium that the wealthy paid for stability and democracy. One important factor that they did not want was ignorance to set in and that is what we would be left with to make our future political office, let alone our future presidents. How can a country run on ignorance? Many cannot afford to send their children to school, so therefore by having taxes cover the cost of school, this would allow many more children and even adults to get an education to better themselves and our economy. We will take a look at why Jefferson was so adamant about tax supported education. We will also look at who it affected
