The Importance Of Human Rights

There are many people who fought for certian right. Mother Jones and Cesar chavez were just two of the many people. Mother Jones fought for the rights of the mill children. Chavez fought for the field workers rights. Both wanted equal and fair rights for all people. Also they both wanted people not to be getting hurt or being used.

Throughout time there have been many people who have wanted to enact change or make a difference. Cesar Chavez helped migrant farmers with their unsafe work conditions and their lack workers’ rights. Mother Jones marched for children’s rights and to create child labor laws. Van Jones is fighting for human rights currently. These people all did amazing things and all fought for a singular purpose.Cesar Chavez, Mother Jones, and Van Jones all helped fight to enact change, by making people notice their cause and by having the perseverance to keep fighting for others to have better lives.

Mother Jones made an impact on child labor because she persevered to protect children. They way down to the White House just to protect kids. According to Josephson in Mother Jones: Fierce Fighter for Workers’ Rights, “She and the textile union leaders would stage their own tour. They would march the mill children all the way to the president of the United States—Theodore Roosevelt.” This shows how she got her idea to try to persuade not only the President but make this issue publicly known. Josephson states, “Mother Jones had seen how dangerous their jobs were. Barefooted little girls and boys reached their tiny hands into the treacherous machinery to repair snapped threads or crawled underneath the machinery to oil it.” Josephson has a heart for kids, and she just can’t stand to see them being tortured like this. Josephson says, “The next night, the marchers slept on the banks of the Delaware River. In every town, Mother Jones drew on what she did best—speaking—to gather support for her cause.” Mother Jones had to be strong to carry out her task, and to get her point across to the people. Mother Jones had to be strong in order to carry out her tasks.

Fighting for rights does not have to be violent. Mother Jones fought for child labor laws, Cesar Chavez fought for migrant workers’ rights, and Gandhi fought for independence from Britain. Mother Jones, Cesar Chavez, and Mahatma Gandhi all helped to enact change by using peaceful methods to get their points across.

History is filled with stories of dedicated human rights activists that risked their lives to fight for what they believe in. Three good examples of human rights activists that never gave up are Melba Pattillo Beals, Mahatma Gandhi, and Mother Jones. Melba Pattillo Beals and Gandhi actively worked in fighting for racial equality while Mother Jones worked to improve children’s and workers’ rights. These determined human rights activists never gave up when fighting to improve the rights of persecuted people facing discrimination.

Mother Jones, Cesar Chavez, and Jimmy Carter all dedicated part of their life to help bring justice into areas they believed needed it most. Cesar Chavez wanted to help migrant workers. While Mother Jones helped bring attention to child labor and Jimmy Carter wanted to help with the human rights of all people. Although their motivations were different, all three people fought for the human rights of many children and adults, some motivated by their childhood and others straight from their heart, to promote freedom and change.

Personal experience motivated Melba Beals and Harriet Tubman to get equal rights, while Mother Jones was affected by what she saw to get worker’s rights. These three are very important, all making a change to these human rights.

How were Mother Jones and Cesar Chavez a big inspiration to many people? Mother Jones inspired many people because she fought for fairness, even if she had to sacrifice herself. Cesar Chavez was an inspiration to many Americans because he was a farm worker that fought for justice and dignity. Mother Jones and Cesar Chavez were an inspiration to many people because they had to sacrifice themselves to fight for human rights. Mother Jones and Cesar Chavez were two influential figures, fought for fairness, inspired social change, and championed human rights.

Mother Jones, Cesar Chavez, and Malala Yousafzai all fought for the rights that they believed in. They all were leaders part of a big picture. Although these three individuals used different methods to get their point across, they all had courage to speak out about injustice and improve human rights.

Rosa Parks is an amazing example of standing up for the cause. She knew she was supposed to hand over her seat to a white man. She knew that the aftermath of such an act at that time was punishable by jail time. And she did it anyway, for the dream of equal rights to all, no matter the race, color,

Throughout history, and even today, people have fought for what is just and right through a multitude of different methods, some violent, others entirely peaceful. There are three freedom fighters that stand out among the rest, however. Harriet Tubman risked her life many times to free her people from unjust enslavement, Mother Jones organized more obvious methods to set laws in place against child labor, and nowadays Christine Caine and the A21 Organization fight to save and protect victims of human trafficking. These three people have all fought valiantly, and continue to fight today, for the justice that every oppressed individual deserves, as they believe in equality for all on Earth.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Mother Jones stood up and fought for workers’ rights for mere children, marching with some all the way to the president to talk to him. Cesar Chavez was a well-known immigrant workers’ rights activist who had lived through the conditions he was trying to prevent. Emma Watson is a young feminist who is adamant about her cause and speaks out to the world. These chosen individuals may have campaigned for different things, but they all fought for enacting simple equality for everybody using a drive of passion and courage.
