I'd figure I might as well talk about the shooting at the San Antonio Baptist Church as well as gun control and terrorism.
First off, my heart goes out to the victims and their friends and family. For the past year or two, it seems like a shooting or a terrorist attack happens in the West every other week. But what's the solution to all of this?
When it comes to guns, maybe the U.S need stricter gun control laws. That does that mean taking away your guns. It just means it will be tougher to get a gun legally. On the other hand, I heard somebody say on the news that the U.S has a massive gun culture. If that's the case, then implementing stricter gun control laws will not reduce the number of shootings. But maybe the U.S should implement
When I think of a gun that looks amazing usually has a nice blue finish to the metal. That is not the only type of finish there is, but what is the reason behind finishing. When I thought about it before the only thought that came to mind is, to help protect the gun along with the price of the gun would go up. Everyone is looking to make a dollar somehow. If not only with a time but also with skills. I think that’s about all we all could give.
Gun control should be implied more than it is now. More gun laws should be created in order to tame society. Americans own over 300 million guns. According to (Everitt,Ladd) the author of the article “Does the U.S. Need Tougher Gun-Control Laws?” There are 99 gun deaths a day and some who committed the crime were not eligible to obtain or carry a weapon. More teens are being killed with guns than any other crime. Teens are not eligible to obtain guns due to the age requirement that is 21 years of age with a background check. There are gun show loopholes were 18 year olds can go and buy a gun without a license and background check. “The major cities chiefs association endorses closing the gun show loophole” according to Richard Perez-Pena the
There have been many incidents in the past based on the lack of gun control. These incidents range from an incident with one other person to mass shootings. There are three big issues that woke up our society: the Trayvon Martin case, the Colorado movie theater murders, and recently the San Bernardino shooting. These incidents will help illustrate the reasons why we need stricter gun control.
There also should be stricter gun laws in the country. In the book, “The Spiral Notebook” by Stephen and Joyce Singular, the authors refer to James Holmes, the theatre shooter in Aurora, Colorado and state that, “With just one of his guns, the AR-15, he’d fired thirty rounds in twenty-seven seconds” (Page 27). AR-15s should not be so easily available to any American. There should be stricter gun laws and background checks for these types of guns. Banning AR-15s would help with this problem. Also there should be a federal law requiring longer wait periods to purchase any firearms and conducting background checks for everyone in every state.
In September of 2015, Democrats, Republicans, and Independent people were asked,"Do you support or oppose stricter gun control laws in the United States?" Majority of the Republicans voted no, Majority of the Democrats voted yes, and Independent voters were neutral. The reason the Republicans oppose gun control laws, was because they believed in the second amendment and the right to bear arms. While the Democrats support strict gun control laws, because they want the crime rate to go down. Lastly Independent people are 50/50 so its either they support or oppose strict gun control
Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the United States yet in 2016 there were 762 gun related homicides, 3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims. Despite strict gun laws Chicago had one of the deadliest years in history, so are the laws really working? Strict gun control does not mean that the amount of gun related crime will decrease. So, what is the point in making strict gun control laws?
The Paris shootings lead up to relative issues to be discussed with global citizens and politicians in this problematic world. Children are dying of hunger, unimpeachable lives are being lost, religious hatred rising and terrorism increasing by day by day.
Gun regulation has been a controversial topic since they were first established as a weapon. People for and against gun regulation provide strong arguments for their side. Gun regulation has fluctuated over time due to changes in office. Being a democracy prevents us from having consistency. As a nation we continue to change regulations on guns because of the different views our democracy allows us to have. The main aspects pose the most problems in gun control are violence, illegal sale of guns, and mental health checks.
“Martha, a student at the University of South Carolina was paralyzed when a gang member fired his gun as she and her friends were waiting for a taxi.” Martha was minding her business when she was shot. If there had been more strict gun laws the gun probably wouldn’t have been in the gang member’s possession and Martha wouldn’t have been shot. The laws for carrying guns are very lenient in the United States. There would be less deaths and shootings if guns were not sold illegally. Although guns are beneficial in some ways, there would be less mass shootings, murders, and other violence if there were stricter gun laws. Everyday innocent people are injured or even worse, they lose their lives because of gun violence. There needs to be a change made to ensure the safety of others.
Many would agree that there is a distressing amount of violence in America. Violence takes place in many forms, in different severities, and in many places. In an effort to continually make our society more civilized, ways to stop these violent acts from occurring are always being contemplated. There are many ways to approach the epidemic in America, but one that has increasing popularity is applying more strict gun control laws. Strict gun laws are viewed by many to be a step in the right direction, but they are actually a potential danger to the citizens of the United States.
. The United States is the leading country in gun related crimes in the world. Crimes that are gun related have gone down in the past due to new laws and it's time we enact them again. Stricter gun control laws are necessary in the United States in order to preserve the safety of civilians.
However, owning guns has led to several shootings across the United States. Guns are too easily available and need to be monitored more often because of how they are accessed and how easy they are to purchase. Stricter gun control laws will help the situation become less violent and diminish School shootings.
Most mass shooting happened in gun free zones, because there is no one to stop them. Will it might be that there is no one to stop them. If gun control laws were put into place all over America what would happen? Gun violence could go down for all anyone know but there is the possibility that gun violence goes up do to Americans not having anyway to protect themselves from home intruders. It could also go up do to the criminals not having anything to fear breaking into people’s house they could still have their guns because there guns are illegal. America should be against gun control laws because without a firearm what would keep Americans safe from others that still have firearms that want to hurt or rob them.
Do you think Gun control is a really important problem in this world? well first let me explain what it is. Its a domestic regulation of firearm manufacture, trade, possession, use, and transport, specifically with regard to the class of weapons referred to as ( pistols, rifles and carbines, assault rifles, submachine guns and light machine guns).Usage of the term gun control is sometimes politicized. Some of those in favor of legislation instead prefer to use terms such as "gun-violence prevention", "gun safety", "firearms regulation", "illegal guns", or "criminal access to guns".
Should there be gun control laws either on state and federal level? According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, 467,321 people were victims of a crime committed with a firearm in 2011. Americans nowadays are faced with constant terror in the streets, teen-age gang members are constantly shooting other gang members for “turf” to sell drugs or show their power to rival gangs, children are more than likely to be caught in the crossfire of gang related shootings or drive-by shootings. We can’t ignore these crimes and the damage it has done to our society in a whole. However, the effort by some individuals to eliminate the legal ownership of firearms does not address the real problem we face, and by doing away with the banning of
