What does it mean to be healthy and why do we strive to live a healthy lifestyle?

Let's first start by defining what Health is: it’s the state of being sound or whole, in the body, mind, or soul; especially being free from physical disease or pain. There are so many different kinds of health: ranging from physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and so forth. Now, a lifestyle is the pattern of habits you decide to pursue in your life. What most people misinterpret about a healthy lifestyle is that it’s not just about eating "healthy" foods or working out at the gym, but rather the pattern of healthy habits that you create that sustains your personal well-being.
In 2016, 92.5% of Canadians aged 12 and older (27.3 million people) reported that they were satisfied or very satisfied with their life. While this number remained unchanged for females in the previous year, Males experienced a slight reduction in life satisfaction compared to 2015.
So how are the different kinds of health linked together? The fact is that your physical health effects your mental health, while your spiritual health affects your emotional health and so on. So let’s pretend that you started seeing someone you like, now although your physical health might be at its prime, if your emotional health isn’t justifiably high either then you would experience at some point unhappiness and discomfort with your life regardless of which person you decide to be with. Thus compromising your overall well-being.
