As people have become more self aware and active about exercising their personal freedoms, it has brought about discussions as to how their freedoms can be limited. In the workplace employees have been in a state of disagreement as to the extent in which their employers can restrict their expression of opinions. When a person chooses to signs an employer’s contract that person is legally bound to those beliefs and morals that the company withholds. In order to bring peace and settlement to this topic, legal limits and guidelines must be set and enforced so justice can be established. In addition, Gregory shows that the filing of discrimination based lawsuits rose 75% between 1997 and 2008.
