The Importance Of Recess In A School

A change this drastic can only be called a revolution; a revolution of our perceptions of school. In order for this to happen it has to start from the top, the seniors, and more specifically, myself. I plan to take the first step in this revolution, hopefully inspiring those younger than me to follow.

Students should have to come in before or after school. . Some people need to learn to turn things in and stop being treated like a baby. Students need to learn to be responsible. Students should learn to get their work done in class or on their own time.

Have you ever wanted more time? Have you ever wanted to go to your lockers after every class? Have you ever forgotten anything because you don't have enough time in class? THen you agree with us to change th 8th grade schedule to match it with the rest of FCHS. Think about all the things that would be better, there will be no more sore ankles, more time in class to learn, best of all lockers after every class. The 8th grade schedule will not prepare us for the later years in high school, because we can't go to lockers after every other class. We don't have a lot of time between classes and walking a lot. Finally we don't have enough time in class.

People often say that the reason middle schools don’t have recess is because it will take away from learning time, and since in middle school you can get gym every day so you don’t really need it. On the other hand recess is a physical activity that can give you a good amount of exercise in a day, better than gym can. Recess is also a fantastic way to improve your social skills, and your fitness. Recess is a good, and exciting way to improve your health, social interaction, and it is beneficial for you to focus better in class.

Could playing outside for at least 20 minutes every day really be a mistake? No it is not middle schools should have recess added to their schedule because recess gives the brain a break, which then helps it work better, it could also help kids be healthy, and recess may also help learn skills so that they could succeed in life or have a better future. So therefore they should add recess to middle school schedules. First of all, recess should be added to middle school schedules because it gives kids a break which then helps them work better in class. States the article called Do You Need Recess “Yet research shows that breaks can actually facilitate learning”.

Many students upon entering middle school are surprised to find that recess if no longer part of their day. Recess has positive benefits for students. I think kids from 1 -12th grade should have recess. A few examples are: exercise is great for students, kids need time to socialize with their friends and socially connect, and recess reduces stress.

Do middle school kids need recess? Yes, Because a lot of middle school kids in the USA are overweight. It also benefits both their education and the physical aspect because they stay active and learn new things that they might not have know about. Also, it gives them time to zone out and relax after all the hard work they had to do.

No Child Left Behind has created a multitude of emotions and high stress situations throughout schools nationwide. Getting students to perform well on standardized tests seems to be the goal at whatever cost it takes to get there. Administrators have turned to slashing teacher prep time and much needed breaks as well as taking away physical activity from those that need it most, our young students. This writing will look at why recess is being taken away and the many benefits children get from recess. Information will be presented about the different benefits children get from recess and connections will be made as to how that may benefit them in future years.

Why kids deserve to have recess and not sit on the couch and watch tv all day when they could be outside and spend time burning enger and spending time with friends.Most kids have been on phones,tablets,tv,ipads,and why that is bad is because if kids are to spend more than,4 hours on tv they could grow up to be overweight.Also if kids watch violent shows they can show aggressive behavior.After kids show that behavior they will become addicted to tv and devices which then if you don't stop them and take it away for a while then the kids will still show that behavior.

I don’t see any changes I would make, but something I would talk to the class about to make the classroom become more of a community would be respect. I would plan a mini lesson on respect and how we treat others for another day.

Some people say that there shouldn't be recess. The definition of recess is to have a break. Without recess students will not get exercise and they would suffer with extreme boredom. All students need to have a break to play during school. My opinion is the students at Oak Hills Elementary School should have longer recess. I think students would like longer recess because it gives them time to socialize with their friends and play. We do already have about twenty-five minutes to play, but the students that I interviewed said, that is not enough time and I agree. Longer recess will let students have the chance to socialize with their friends, it will get their energy out for class, and if their energy is out, students will have more focus. Those are my reasons why students should have longer recess.
