Living in a society that does not help its people to live comfortably and provide facilities for them to achieve their demands, is harmful. One of these harmful affections is “social inequality” in each diverse society. Social inequality occurs when resources in each society are distributed unevenly, typically through norms of allocation, that engender specific patterns along lines of socially defined categories of persons. The United States contains one of the most common social inequalities for its population and that is “social stratification and mobility” and the government should strictly investigate this social inequality for people who are living in the United States.

Unequal access to resources for children in their formative years, affordable higher education, private business ownership, and inheritances all perpetuate weak economic and social mobility.

Although both Michaels and Foroohar identify the effect of classism and economic inequality to the American Dream in society, Michaels sees the inequality most through the culture and historical point of view, meanwhile, Foroohar stands on the statistics side and social experiences to talk about that. Both articles achieve their targets by showing the classism and economic inequalities exist conspicuous, and the American Dream is limited, especially for the poor and lower class.

Social inequality exists in the United States through the Elite’s power to maintain their dominance in the United States capitalist system. The Elite Ruling class is made of the upper class and this class of individuals share similar ideology and are the members of the United State’s Superstructure. The Elite Ruling Class members of society are the decision and policy makers in the United States. Research and history has proven that many policies and decisions made by the Elite Ruling Class serve their own interest and promote their ideas. These decisions are the source of the inequality in the United States and it contributes to their ability to maintain their dominant status. The inequality is trickled down to the other classes through social policy and social institutions that affect our lives everyday citizens. A major example of this social inequality can be seen in the United States housing market or home ownership. A significant amount of studies, statics and data supports the evidence of social inequality within the US housing market or home ownership. Every individual in this world genuinely appreciates the value and privilege of any sort of monetary value. Adding to the problems countries and people have to face around the world is a well talked and argued topic of economic inequality. To begin with, economic inequality can be defined as the division amongst the rich and the poor. Today inequality exists in minimum wage, taxes, etc. all of these forms of inequality can affect the well-being or family of a person. As Americans, many of us take our socioeconomic status and right of equal opportunity for granted. However, there are many who lack the resources to raise their economic status thus creating a growing wealth gap. The only way to stop this economic inequality is to have private funders advocate for these poor people. There needs to be more of a focus on the economic portion of socioeconomic because it provides the necessities of life. Therefore, inequality exists in America and the only way to stop it is by having private funders be the primary advocate for those who suffer from this inequality.

Studies continually show a racial, economic, and educational inequality within American society. This bias consistently favors the white population, with opportunities trickling down sparingly to minority populations. Social scientists devote a tremendous amount of time, energy, and financial resources in an effort to learn how to correct these disparities. We propose that one of the most intuitive means of creating this social change is to instill a desire in our children to join the battle for change. To accomplish this goal, we must first understand the factors that impact a student’s desire to get involved in creating social change. We think this understanding is critical for impacting the issue of inequality in America.

Many Americans believe that America has one of the most powerful economies that is involved in the global market and the best average living standards. Since the creation of the United States it has been known as the land of endless opportunities, regardless of social or economic classes. Under this philosophy, all citizens should have equal rights and given equal opportunity to progress in the workforce.
