Whether a business, restaurant, or barn, buildings need maintenance or their appearance, as well as the appeal to others, will drastically decrease. That said, this church does not bypass the laws of nature and decay. As a person to recently begin attending this church, the first impression received from the foyer did little to impress and offered a rather undesirable presentation of the church. With this place being the first area visitors see, the congregation should consider removing the musty smell, as well as painting the walls to create a more inviting environment. Although some members may not see this as an important issue, when reaching out to the community, we should provide an environment that welcomes and remains free of …show more content…
Secondly, the next group requires very inexpensive cleaning agents as a spray bottle with vinegar and water along with some paper towel would remove the musty smell from the walls. Continuing on, this assembly will paint the walls a brighter color as the wood paneling has become outdated with its dark uninviting tone. Cleaning the furniture, the last group could divide into two groups for the wood and cloth benches and couches. Washing the wooden seats with gentle cleaning agents and towels will freshen them up. Washing the cloth furniture will take more steps, but remains rather simple. Vacuuming of the couches should commence first, and then gently wash them with a formula according to the tag on the back of the furniture. Sponges could soak up the water and the formula can them penetrate the cushions to relieve the smell. Moving the furniture back into place after everything dries, exists as the last step in preparing for service next Sunday.
As with all projects involving others, there will likely exist objections from a few of the members. Commonly an objection, the price of this operation will likely present as a point of resistance; however, with volunteers the primary expense will stay as the paint and renting cleaners. While there remain some expenses, the cleaning of the foyer should exist as a priority as it starts the visitor’s opinion of the church. Another objection that
On this date worker visited the residence of Jamison Mathews, for the purpose of talking with Mr. and Mrs. Mathews about case plan goals. When worker arrived, someone greeted worker at the door and informed her that she had the wrong address but someone named Jasmine hung out at Lot 5. Worker visited Lot 5 and found an empty trailer. Worker spoke with the neighbor, learned that the person renting the trailer was name Jennifer, and had a friend name Jasmine who visited often. According to the neighbor, Jennifer moved out at the beginning of July and did not leave a forwarding
The process by which Scripture has been preserved and compiled is one whose history is worth noting. The early church had many opportunities to share the Good News of Christ via word of mouth, but from the time of Christ’s resurrection until the mid-second century, there had not been a single culmination of writings considered to be essential for the purposes of
The United States of America is home to many people of different cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. And with those varying ethnicities come people with many different religions that are not Christianity. Although
I'm harassed daily at Pitt University, Greensburg under the Hands of William Bill Franicola. These employees know they can get away with their action of laughing in our faces, slurs, hand gestures and comments Mr. Franicola is present letting this behavior continue. Nothing is confiding at Pitt after Joe told me he was keeping an eye on Bob Godzik, outside the pole building Donna Myers, Vicki Hoak is pointing there two fingers at Bob saying they are keeping their eyes on you then moving their fingers towards their eyes. They did the same Hand gestures to Dan Kelly when Bob Godzik was present in the office. When Joe changed my work area to Cassel Hall due to harassment from Bob and Julie Godzik after the change there was several anti-Bullying
In 1974 Dulles published Models of the Church to address questions concerning ecclesiology-the study of the church. Many people believe that they know the meaning of the church, which is a place to become closer to God. However, there is more than what meets the eye when it comes to the Church, since it is a very complex organization. Dulles' book identifies and describes the different functions the Church possesses which Jesus Christ founded and continues to oversee today. He categorizes the models into five aspects: Church as institution, Church as mystical communion, Church as sacrament, Church as herald, Church as servant, and lastly his new model Church as community. In this
In their book, Comeback Churches: How 300 Churches Turned Around and Yours Can Too, writers Ed Stetzer and Mike Dodson report their discoveries concerning 324 churches that made rebounds from five or more years of level and/or decrease. There is promise for the 70 to 80 percent of North American houses of worship that are as of now in a condition of upkeep or decay. Comeback Churches establishes a decent framework for perceiving the issue and will help pioneers in the Church begin moving in the right heading. Furthermore, it makes an extraordinary showing with shielding the requirement for Churches to genuinely assess the wellbeing and welfare of their body. A great guide to any Church pioneers and any individual who should notice that their
There is irrefutable evidence that over the period of the Middle Ages, both Christianity and Islam have been anchors in both shaping and influencing governance of kingdoms and empires comprising Western Europe, the Byzantine Empire, and territories ruled by Islam. Religion during this period was widely used to set laws, influence culture, justify armed conflicts, and pronounce punishment on citizens domiciled within the geographies depicted within this essay. I will attempt to illuminate the geopolitical climate, territorial demarcation, and religious influences that depicted life circa 500 – 1517 CE. From the background material submitted, I will directly answer the following questions:
Roller skating rinks and bowling alleys are two places that people visit for recreational purposes. Although I have gone bowling a couple of times, I have never gone roller skating at a rink. Some people do go by themselves, while others take along a friend or family member(s). I visited both of these facilities in order to conduct field research and do a micro-level analysis so as to gather primary data from the natural environment about society and patterns of social behavior. While in public, there are certain rules of behavior that are generally followed, which are considered acceptable by the members of society (McLeod, 2008). Individuals who do not follow these norms may be shunned or suffer some type of ramification (McLeod, 2008).
Over the past years of my life I have seen many changes, some for the good and others not as good. Change can be demanding and also crucial. The early believers would encounter this. One can see that significant change happened, when reading through the gospels and the book of acts it is obvious to the reader that the believers who followed Jesus would never be the same again.
Over the years, the government of the American people has subtly and gradually seized control of the responsibilities and roles of the American family and the Christian church. Both families and the church are being completely taken over by the government as time passes by. Now the people of America are counting on the government, not their family and the church as it used to be.
The United States of America is a country that is a country that is based on the fact that it's citizens have more freedom than anywhere else. "Freedom" is a broad term of "American", and we use the word a lot without ever really defining it. We have the freedom to choose our religion. Although the pledge of allegiance states "one nation under god", implying that an American citizen is a Christian background, it is not forced upon us. Unlike some places, we have the freedom to put our faith in whatever religion we choose, regardless of whether we were born into it or not. We can worship whatever god we want, however we want, whenever we want. We can choose to believe in nothing at all, or every god that every religion has ever praised. We
The same nation that was forged by foreigners who wanted liberation from tyranny, pursue religious freedom, and have an opportunity to be successful, is in a very disappointing situation. Politics has resulted in the division of unified people from the same nation countless times throughout history, which happens due to the fact that everyone believes in different things, however, some political subjects make us the judges of right and wrong, such as who is allowed in our country. Imagine living in an unstable country with your family that is under the rule of a tyrannical terrorist regime, bombs and gunshots are happening at your doorsteps and you want to escape and provide safety for your family. As a result, you leave the country and try to come to the “home of the free”, the United States, but upon your arrival, you are banned from entering because of your religion and you and your family are sent back. Muslims who follow the faith of Islam have been labeled as “terrorists” by so many news companies, government officials, and everyday citizens, however, that is what is called ignorance. A person should not be denied access into the States as a result of their religion unless they pose a legitimate threat, banning a group because of their religion can be deemed unconstitutional.
Church, a six letter word that can have several different meanings depending on who you ask: believers, nonbelievers, people who just don’t care about religion…etc. But to me, if I made a definition for the word church is would be this: a physical place where God created in his plan that us followers created on earth a building where we gather and worship Him. While in the dictionary, the meaning of church is short, sweet and to the point, it is “a building used for Christian worship.” In the Bible, the word church is defined as “the body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18, 24; 1 Cor. 12:12-13, 27-28; Rom. 12:5)” (Perks 23). So in a sense, the main idea of the definition of a church is a place where believers go to worship God. On the other
In chapter two of The Catholic Church: Nature, Reality and Mission, Cardinal Walter Kasper explores the interconnected relationship between the kingdom of God and the Church. According to Cardinal Kasper, “the Church… [is an] anticipation of the universal eschatological kingdom of God.” The Church, in Kasper’s judgement, is meant to be both salt and light for the entire world (cf. Mt 5:13-16) because it is an eschatological sign of God’s coming reign. As salt and light, the Church is meant to be “a healing and helping [entity], [while also being a] stimulating and… provoking presence in the world.” In order for the Church to fulfill these objectives, individual Christians must first look back at salvation history. By examining God’s actions
The four marks of our church are what we believe as Roman Catholics our church to be. We state these beliefs in the Nicene Creed and they are also shown in many other parts of our faith. Only the Roman Catholic Church reflects the fullness of these marks. It is through these marks that salvation can be achieved. These marks include One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostalic.
