If I had a ticket to go anywhere in the world I would go to Hawaii and take my family to have a memorable time there and experience new things. My parents have dreamt of going to Hawaii one day to just see how it really is to see people dancing, and see crystal clear aqua blue beaches.
Hawaii has been one of my childhood places i’ve always wanted to experience growing up. Many people around the globe have always said many positive comments about traveling to Hawaii. As growing up i’ve learned more and more about fun things to. For example, Hawaii’s active volcano is currently active to this day. Many citizens from parts of state have to evacuate from their area to move to a different location due to the volcano erupting. Hawaii has many rainforests,
From approximately 1000-1600 ce knights and samurai existed in Europe and Asia. Although they were around the same time period they were different. Knights were the European warriors and the samurai were the Japanese warriors. Although they are both warriors their codes and the way of preparing for battle were different. The similarities may look like they are great but there are small specific differences between the knights and samurai.
The main way I plan on giving back to Hawaii is to make sure that everyone I come across knows that this land has shaped me into what I am today. Akin to a piece of clay, I was molded into all that I am by my environment and the people who cared for me. Making sure that everyone knows, no matter the part of the country I am in, that I am from Hawaii. My major concern is to be successful and for everyone around the country to know that people from this state are capable and amazing, in ways that people from every other state are. I want people to know, I’m giving back in a way that isn’t really physical or tangible in any sense of the word, but in the recognition that I want this state and the people to receive.
If I had a ticket to go anywhere, i would go back to New Orleans, Louisiana because that's my home town where I was born and raised. Half of my family that i haven't seen in awhile is down there. I miss the food there, it was extremely delicious.
I would like to go back to Hawaii because the landscape is beautiful. I would enjoy going to rainbow falls because, when the sun is shining there is a rainbow above the waterfall. I would also like to go to Punalu’u Beach. Punalu’u Beach is a black beach which means the sand is ash and is completely black. I would also enjoy trying the food in Hawaii.
Since 1840 the Hawaiian Islands have been an escape to a tropical paradise for millions of tourists. People all over the world encounter alluring, romanticized pictures of Hawai'i's lush, tropical vegetation, exotic animals, beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, and fantastical women. This is the Hawai'i tourists know. This is the Hawai’i they visit. However, this Hawai'i is a state of mind, a corporate-produced image existing on the surface. More precisely, it is an aftermath of relentless colonization of the islands' native inhabitants by the United States. These native Hawaiians experience a completely different Hawai'i from the paradise tourists enjoy. No one makes this as clear as
American tourism to Hawaii has increased by 14.2 percent in just two years. This dramatic increase in tourism seems to be a beneficial boost for Hawaii's economy; however, the increasing rate of tourism is harming the native people of Hawaii. While the Hawaiian economy is experiencing one of its most fruitful years, the native Hawaiian people are suffering from job loss, poverty, depression, and an overall "cultural destruction" (Trask 260). Haunani-Kay Trask uses rhetoric to discuss these harmful effects in her essay "Tourist, Stay Home" in order to persuade her readers into believing that tourism can actually be a bad thing for an economy. On the other hand, in his article "Surf's Up for the Economy in Hawaii," Jim
When one looks at the social and economic indicators of well-being, the conclusion is clear. Tourism has not benefited the host Native Hawaiian people and it probably never will. To understand this, one must understand that Hawaii today is at the mercy of transnational interests. Foreign investment related to tourism went from 70.8 million dollars in 1981 to over a billion and a half in 1986. The increase is enough to make anyone’s head spin and confirms the vulnerability of Hawaii and Hawaii’s people. Japanese investment in leading the pack has plunked down over 3 billion dollars for hotels alone in a time period of eighteen years ending 1989. The Australians are far behind the second place with 117 million. Today, almost every major hotel is owned by foreign investors and almost every hotel on the drawing board is being funded by foreign investment. The rapid and phenomenal increase of foreign investment is the clearest indication that any consideration of the short and long term negative impact of tourism is of no consequence to those involved in the industry.
Hawaii is like the outdoor fun vacation that everyone wants to experience. It has so many activities that one could only wonder how they would be able to enjoy all of them. Hawaii is known for its beaches, but they also have great camping
I heard in school that Hawaii was amazing and I would like to go to Hawaii to try their food so I would know what it taste like. I also want to learn how fish live and see different types of fish and feed the fish. Another reason I would like to go to Hawaii is because I would like to climb a volcano and have fun, and take pictures and explore it. And I would gently swim in the ocean because of the sharks, see the ocean and drive a jet ski.
As skiers, hikers, sightseers, beachgoers and travelers pack their bags and head out for their vacations, they probably never even consider that what they are about to embark upon happens to be the largest industry in the world. Millions of people travel domestically and internationally each year to experience places and things that are totally out of their ordinary lifestyle and to get their minds off the hustle bustle of everyday life. Because of Hawaii’s year-round tropical climates, cultural experiences and leisurely atmosphere, it is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations and attracts over 9 million visitors each year. Hawaii’s beautiful terrain, clear ocean waters, and year around tropical climate temperatures, combined with the people’s Aloha and welcoming spirit has made the islands one of the most attractive location in the world to visit. In 1997, 158,000 individuals visited Hawaii each day, and the annual tourist arrival count was 6.8 million. (Luciano). Although Hawaii’s tourism business has improved the socio-economic condition for many that has made Hawaii their home, there have been negative impacts to Native Hawaiians with second and third order effects that go unseen behind the ocean front hotels, luaus, and tourist attractions. Hawaii has become a major tourist destination that receives over six million visitors per year. One of a major contributor to the Hawaiian economy, so much that it generates 10 billion dollars per year to the economy. (Lukasz). Because of tourism, the negative impact on the Native Hawaiians has been eye opening for the economic effects and even globalization. At home, specific negative effects include overbuilding to accommodate increased population densities, low income jobs, and mistreatment from tourists.

cannot repent for my past actions, but be dearly warned that once you follow this path you cannot turn back. A night like any of which that is common for winter here in Arkham, the chilling winds howl against the cold silence of the dark. The Lich street graveyard was the place I spent most of my time. The dead and quiet don’t disagree with you when you present with preposterous queries. Above was the darkness of the void that holds the light. Stillness was around me and I was around it. The sky above burnt open revealing a terrible secret to whom only a few still know.
Hawaii is located in the central Pacific Ocean; it is one of the many islands in Polynesia. It is composed of eight main islands: Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, Maui and the Island of Hawaii, the island of Hawaii being the largest island of the eight (see attached map). According to the census bureau, as of 2014, Hawaii ‘s population is approximately 1,419,561 with Native Hawaiians forming only 10% of the population; in order to be considered a Native Hawaiian you must have one native great-grandparent (2014 United States Census Bureau). Hawaii’s official languages are English and Hawaiian. Hawaii was first occupied by people coming from the Marquesas Islands approximately 1500 years ago followed by people from Tahiti. In 1778 Captain Cook arrived in Hawaii finding approximately 300,00 Hawaiians there. In the 1850’s Hawaiians worked in sugar cane plantations. In 1983 Queen Liliuokalani was deposed and in 1900 Hawaii became a United States Territory. Fifty-nine years later, in 1959, Hawaii became the 50th state of the United States.
