This case involves a physician, Dr. Burditt, who had disregarded the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA). This act was implemented to prevent “Medicare-participating hospital from “dumping” patients out of the emergency room” (Pozgar, 2016, p. 245). In this case, Dr. Burditt had had examined the patient and made the decision to transfer her to another hospital that was located quite a distance away. When the patient was evaluated, it was noted that she had “dangerously high blood pressure (210/130) and was in active labor with ruptured membranes” (Pozgar, 2016, p. 245). The United States, well known for its democracy, holds elections every four years to elect its President. Every American citizen over the age of 18 has a right to cast a vote in the presidential election. The voting process, although it seems easy and straightforward, can be very complicated. In the 2000 election, Al Gore captured the majority of votes, but George Bush won. The reason for this strange outcome and why Al Gore lost was because of the Electoral College. The Electoral College is voting system where different states are given a certain amount of votes in the election, and which ever candidate wins a state, is given that state’s votes. The Electoral College is out of date, and should be replaced by the Popular Vote system,

America was built on a foundation of freedom and rights. These rights are outlined in an attempt to let the average United States citizen’s voice be heard throughout the country. Voting in elections is the key to our democracy. Voting is a way that the people of the United States are able to voice their opinions about who they believe should lead the country; however, the founding fathers created the electoral college in order to protect the government against factions that could arise. The electoral college is a highly debated system that some Americans believe needs to be abolished.

The United States of America is one of the few countries that give its citizens a unique opportunity and that is to vote. Many other countries give its citizens the right to vote, however America is different due to the fact that its citizens vote for everything, from their local government to their president. With power this great, it gives more reason to become and informed voter. Each state has congressional districts that are made by the population. Each district has around 711,000 people. Each district gets one representative in the House of Representatives. For example, Portland Connecticut is part of the 1st congressional district in Connecticut. Their representative is John Larson. The 1st congressional district of Connecticut spans over multiple counties including multiple major cities, and example would be East and West Hartford, Hartford being the capital of Connecticut. Other cities include Middletown and Manchester, all which are highly populated and the towns have large impacts on Connecticut’s economy.

If I were elected to the United States Congress the factors that would influence my decision on whether to vote for or against a bill would be: re-election, political party affiliations and, interest groups. My main concern as every other congressmen would be to be re-elected. If I really want to continue to be a Congressmen then I would keep in mind when the next elections would be and see how I can find my way to keep a seat in Congress.

I believe it is important to vote because the people being affected need to have a say about what or who is elected. People complain about the results of elections all the time, and some of those people didn’t vote. They didn’t get their opinion out there or support their own beliefs! I for example am a millennial, and the recently elected President’s decisions will affect me rof possibly my whole life. If you didn’t agree with his opinions or did agree you needed to get your opinion heard.

There are a ton of different reasons why voting is important in America the most obvious reason is that it is the main source of communication between citizens and government. Voting shows the government what the people want. Every vote matters. There have been several cases in U.S. history where this has been seen. A New Hampshire Senate race was decided by two votes out of 223,363 in 1974. A Massachusetts gubernatorial election was decided by two votes out of 102,066 in 1839. And the Alaskan congressional race was decided by a single vote out of 10,035 cast in 2008. Through voting you simply have the opportunity to influence the government.

Your vote could change America. Voting is also a right for American citizens. One reason you should vote because you can, being able to vote is called freedom it is so important because not everybody has freedom but we do so go out there and use your freedom and vote like a true American. As the leader of the country, the president should be a direct reflection of all Americans. Voting is a part of the consent of the governed, letting people vote for the representatives they desire to have in the office. Requiring someone to have a say by voting, would hurt the outcome and national voting average. Having everyone involved won't give out 100% honest voting. For instance, suppose 40% of the votes are those who really want that candidate running for office. The other 60% are merely voting for anyone. That will affect the poll's turnout by a long shot and the other 40% won't have a fair say in the decision process.

Amongst all the chaos a love connection forms between Ben Cameron and Elsie Stoneman that drives the plot forward and encourages the hero, Ben, to fight against the villains so that he and his beloved may be together at last. Although this film is a cinematic masterpiece, it just so happens to be one of the most racist films ever produced. That is due to its highly inaccurate and racist portrayal of African Americans, and the part they played in American history.
