Encompassing a significant portion of human knowledge such as the arts and physics, an academic discipline is a subject area studied in higher education. Over time, knowledge in academic disciplines naturally develops and advances. Knowledge is what one acknowledges to be true because one believes in the evidence provided. Knowledge quality can be a measure of the degree of excellence of the knowledge gained. Personal knowledge can then be of quality when it is useful to the individual, and shared knowledge, when it contributes to societal wellbeing and advancement. However, such a definition suggests numerous issues. First, quality can be abstract and difficult to measure. Next, not every type of knowledge is equally useful to everyone; knowledge gained doesn’t have equal quality for everyone. Additionally, methods of gaining knowledge are developing, so how can the quality of knowledge found a century ago compare to ten years ago? Knowledge at any point is considered to be of the best quality at the time, but this standard of quality changes. What was of quality yesterday may not be so today. If the definition of quality is evolving as knowledge develops, then can knowledge of enduring quality ever be found? Considering that some disciplines are more certain than others, withstanding quality depends on the methods in which knowledge is found in different disciplines. Considering architecture as an art, personal and shared knowledge are subjective. Where movements are

Consequently, knowledge is power; higher education’s primary role and contribution to economic development remains in its traditional obligation: creating an educated society. In addition to that, the current economy has caused the conventional academic mission to be extremely significant (Rockefeller Institute of Government, 2010). The paradigm shift in the twenty-first century is more knowledge
In modern day society people chase after the belief that knowledge is power. The more knowledge you have the higher you are viewed in the food pyramid of society. But in my opinion I don’t believe so. Defined by the dictionary, “knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject”, and the way we receive our knowledge today through the education system provides greater opportunities to those who are powerful and rich while discriminating those who cannot afford to pay for the price of knowledge. Two influential works of literature that support this belief are “Blue Collar Brilliance” and “Hidden Intellectualism.”
Knowledge is a powerful tool, one which will unlock many doors for us as individuals and as the whole of the human race, but we must always remember the consequences of gaining knowledge. It is both our blessing and our curse, and we must never forget that knowledge is a power, what we do with that power will determine our fate and
The metastructure concepts of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom (DIKW) can be transformed in many areas of healthcare. Using all 4 concepts, provide an example of application in your clinical practice
Even from before the first university, the University of Al-Karaouine, was founded in 859 B.C.E. in Morocco, people of the world have always been hungry for knowledge and enlightenment. We have sought out new truths of the universe and have edited previous beliefs as our base of knowledge expanded. Humans are a curious breed, always looking for what is behind the next corner, always reaching for what seems too far away. We have always been curious, but it was not until that first university was founded did we find the seemingly perfect way to reach higher education. Nothing is perfect though, as Frank Bruni and Mark Edmundson pointed out in their essays describing the flawed education system of today, a system that

In life there are many things that happen that just aren’t fair and often times we are at the center, or at least an observer, of that unfairness. One such unfairness that I would like to discuss today is that of intellect through education and the privileged position related to possessing great knowledge. Mankind’s understandings or the lack thereof have created contentions since the dawn of time. In fact, one could argue
Different realities also exist within different areas of knowledge. Therefore, it can be said that the appraisal and consequent classification of the true value of produced knowledge can not be limited to the degree of difficulty with which said knowledge was produced, and
Civilization has been shaped by many things throughout its progression in the world. One of the most important assets to civilization and the fundamental values in which our world is today is Philosophy. The thought provoking and outward thinkers of the past invited different perspectives that provoked movements that have inspired luxuries that are enjoyed today like democracy, advanced medical technology, and freedom of expression in the forms of art. This would not have been possible without the introduction of formalized education that were introduced in the first universities that were introduced in the Middle Ages in Europe. The progression of educational reform has assisted in further cultivating and shaping society and has created the
francis bacon, A pioneer for the enlightenment era, stated knowledge is power. I believe the statement is as relevant in modern time as it was in the 18th century. Pursuing a K-12 education revealed the Finity of knowledge to comprehend are physical world, break biases, and realize the more we know scholarship
Knowledge, in itself, is nothing. It can even be a burden we are gathering tirelessly and than we carry it through a lifetime, climbing obstacles, overcoming challenges, our knowledge barely helping, and sometimes pulling us back instead.
Knowledge is defined to be facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education. There are two categories that fall under knowledge; personal knowledge and shared knowledge. Shared knowledge refers to what “we know because.” It can also be defined as communicated and constructed knowledge; within culture, social norms, and semiotics. Personal knowledge refers to “I know because.” An expanded definition of personal knowledge refers to personal experiences, values, and perceptions. Shared knowledge changes and evolves over time because of methods that are continuously shared. It is assembled by a group of people. Personal knowledge, on the other hand, depends crucially on the experiences of a particular individual. It is gained
Knowledge lies at the foundation of everything in society. While it may not always be noticed, it is always present. This knowledge is used in an array of processes such as creativity, experimentation, analysis, and so much more. From process to process, or area of knowledge to area of knowledge, all knowledge incorporates the processes of both transformation and description in order to evolve as justifiable beliefs. Transformative knowledge includes the product of an individual’s implementation of their personal cognitive processes to challenge traditional perspectives, while descriptive knowledge results when individuals utilize the new perspectives, allowing fresh outlooks to be perceived. While all areas of knowledge incorporate the use of both processes, some may primarily use one or the other. This can be seen in the areas of art and natural sciences. Knowledge in arts seems to primarily describe the world, while knowledge in natural sciences seeks to transform it through innovation and much more.
