The Importance of Friendship Post University “A good friend is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.” (Wyse, 2007) We all need friends. Friendships are very essential in our daily lives. If we did not have friends we would not be happy. We would be very lonely. They keep our heads on our shoulders. They help us to be strong in the hard times and have fun and relax through the tough times. I believe that everyone needs a really close best friend. Best friends can guide you to do the right thing or the wrong thing. I believe that best friends reflect each other. If you hang out without someone long enough you can influence them. …show more content…
She hated going to funerals more than a dog hates cats. She agreed to go to the funeral with me. I found another really close friend that day that helped guide me through so much that year. He helped me through my parent’s divorce and my unplanned pregnancy. When you don’t feel like you can face something alone, there is always a best friend that is right there going through it with you, if you let them. A really good friend is one that helps you realize that even though you’re going through some tough times, you still need to live your life. You still need to have fun and relax along the way, or else you will become so stressed out that you will end up isolated from anyone who cares about you. When a girl at my school lost her dad, of course she was going to mourn, and mourn she did. Nobody even tried to talk to her for over two years because they felt like there was no point. I had just moved there and decided to try and befriend her. She talked to me a little bit. Eventually our senior year we talked all the time and I finally got her to come over to a sleepover I had and we had a lot of fun. I had never seen her smile before that day. She ended up going out with me and some other girls a lot more. Friends are so important. I do not think that if we did not have friends, we would not be happy or smile. If we develop friendships we can spend our lives less isolated and more happily. Everyone needs a friend. True friends are essential in
Friendship is one of the most valuable things to a person. It gives you the freedom to be who you are. Living a life without friendship is like not living at all because you don’t have anyone to experience it with. In your life, you will come across both good and bad friendships. A good friendship is described as honest, loyal, and happy.
Friendship is something that everyone needs at any time. Friendship keeps us closely interacted with our friends, it keeps you popular, keeps you away from loneliness.
I believe that without friendship, most of us would be gone from the world because of depression. Friends are their to support us and make us feel better. My experience in friendship is not a good one nor a bad one. Many of my friends would fight and I would have to stop them. I was usually that friend who would make sure the group would stay happy and ease. An example would be when we had to write a book in 5th grade. I would let my friend, Josefina, read my book anytime she wanted. In the end, I was disqualified because my book sounded to familiar but they didn’t gave me time to explain why. Luckily when Josefina was there to make me feel better. That’s why from this day on, I am thankful I met
Friendship is an integral part of the life of any human being. Most people feel the need to have a person who they can communicate with and talk about their challenges at any given time. Friendship is essential in
Everyone, quite simply, needs to have friends. In her article “Fifteen Reasons We Need Friends,” Dr. Susan Krauss Whitbourne says that one should appreciate their friends, for they can offer vital life skills, define properties, and can help you get more friends. Moreover, during moments of crisis or accomplishment, it is always good to have a friend there to provide comfort and solace, encouragement and support. Although there are many different types of characters and personalities out there, there is essentially three types of friends: friends who are temporary, friends who are there for a reason, and friends who are there for a lifetime.
First of all, friendships help shape character traits. Their personalities help show how they treat others. For example, if my friend told me a secret and said not to tell no one, and i would keep the secret. My friend trusts me, which makes me honest.
In my real life, my friends and I have shared a happy life for a long time. I have many good friends and I like them very much. They give me a courage and vigor. If I don’t have a friend I can’t enjoy my school life. I always have a lunch with them and we enjoy girl’s talking. When I have a problem I ask their advice. They think about it seriously with me and cheer me up. Friends are one of the most important things in my life.
Relationships are a Major Key to Success Life is hard, and it is necessary for us humans to have a friend to help cope with it all. A friend is with you through thick and thin; giving moral support and celebrate your victories. Many social science studies are backing up that friendship, love, and compassion are keys to a joyus and healthful life. However this fact is not new, Mary Shelley knew love was mandatory for any person to thrive even back in 1818 when she wrote the book Frankenstein.
A friend is an individual with whom secrets and problems are typically shared. This type of relationship serves to build trust in the friendship. Best friends should be trustworthy,

Friendship is something that almost everyone needs or has. I have many friends and I am so thankful for them. One of the most wonderful elements of my experience at Fay is the opportunity to meet people my age, ranging from Thailand to Russia to California. I feel that true friends are extremely important because they are there through hard times and are always there to talk to and can put a smile on my face. Friendship is the essence of
A true friendship is a bond between two people that care equally about each other and put the other person ahead of them for that person’s benefit. Friendships are given to people to show that someone cares about them. Friendships teach you how to care for someone, always do what is better for that person, and trust the people that stay with you.
Brett Ashley is a masculine female in the American 1920’s. We follow her through the narration of one of her many admirers Jake Barnes. Brett does not conform to gender norms and uses her beauty as empowerment over men to keep herself satisfied. Brett reassures us many times throughout the novel that she cannot stay in a committed relationship and that she is a “compulsive bitch”, as John Aldridge finds her. In the time period, Brett Ashley would have been known as a “flapper” in the America’s for her inability to conform to social roles.
As we grow older, we meet new people and make new friendships. Out of all the people you meet there is always that one friend that you click with the most. That being said a best friend is someone you look out for and care for like sibling. As we grow older we have a perception of growing old and having your best friend by your side, but I came to the realization one morning that it is not true. I found out my childhood best friend past away from a drug overdose.
‘’Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek’’ – Barack Obama. Throughout the short story “Van Winkle” by Washington Irving, the author uses imagery by putting the reader in Rip’s shoes as he undergoes a deep 20-year slumber where he enters his slumber as an antagonist and comes out as a protagonist, showing the story’s major theme is time and how time can change people. First off, Rip Van Winkle is a man who felt more sorrow than anger is his everyday life.
