Introduction – part 1 of the induction task was to find two people over the age of 65, this will be my grandfather Arthur Badman and my other grandfather Brian Trodd. I did this because I already knew they had very different lives growing up. I have designed six questions for each of them, family size, what they did in the leisure time/to relax, what types of education they had, at what age did they get their first job, what they wore throughout their teenage years and finally what is their most memorable job.
I started by calling Brian, I asked him first how many siblings he had and it was him and his sister May and both parents. In his leisure time he stated that as a young child he enjoyed playing with his older sister and he really

I then proceeded to call my other grandfather, Arthur and started by asking him how large his family was as a young child. He had 5 brothers and was the youngest and lived with his parents in Enfield.
As a child him and his brothers would play football across the road (unlike my other grandfather Brian that hates football) or they would mess around in the family owned pub, and as they all grew up they became interested in cricket and joined the local club, however he states as a child in the blitz you had to be home early for early tea so they all had cheap bikes and a leather football and you could adventure and climb almost everything.
I started asking my grandfather about his education and he did primary school but at the age of 15 he joined building school where he became proficient in carpentry, masonry, plastering, brick laying and many other things.
My grandads first job was working in the family pub, behind the bar or getting orders in the evening, he did this at a very young age he states at 9 or 10 onwards, he also said this was purely because there was nothing else to do so he offered to help when he was bored and got paid a little bit every now and again.
In his teenage years (during the war) he says general fashion I suppose was peaked caps or fedora esque hats, cotton jumpers, leather shoes and long socks were generally worn by children his age, but he normally wore anything he was given, which
He grew his hair long, and wore a large feather in his hat. His dress coat was of black velvet with gold stitched embroidering. He claimed that he adopted this outfit so that his men "would recognize him on any part of the field".iv
Clothing: The clothes that men wore consisted of breechcloths, buckskin tunics, and leggings. Warm buffalo fur cloaks and blankets were also worn to protect them against the rain and cold. They also wore soft soled moccasins to cover their feet.
With any occupation there must some type of education earned in order to be hired. Most jobs require a minimum high school diploma. Education can involve experience or a degree from a university. Some occupations require experience before being concerned about degrees, and a construction occupation is an example of this. The standard education for a construction worker is a high school diploma, associate’s degree, and 3-4 years of apprenticeship. The associate’s degree is optional depending on the company. To obtain the title of manager the education is a little different. A worker must still have a high school diploma but they also need a bachelor’s degree involving management or architecture. A minimum of 5 years of experience is also required to achieve management status.
By my mom and two of her sisters, my grandfather is called dad, but my Aunt Marcia addresses him as Jack Bronder. My maternal grandfather passed away before I was born, but that is not to say his life does not hold a standing presence in my family today, especially for my Aunt Marcia. The man that I imagine as my grandfather is created only by stories passed down to me, but the story that stands out to me the most is the one told by my Aunt Marcia.
One of the first jobs I ever got when I was younger was being a cashier at a Save- a Lot grocery store. I was 15 years old and I absolutely loved that job.

Paris- Paris was a man of extremely high class. Clothing that was almost of the level of royalty was worn by him. Being a kinsman of the Prince, he was often seen wearing purple and gold. He commonly wore doublets or jerkins, but he would also often wear gowns or cloaks. The high ranking given to him allowed him to wear clothing mainly made of silk. Large hats with feathers secured on them were commonly worn by Paris. Flat and low slip-on shoes were the ideal choice of footwear at the

For my interview essay I decided to interview my grandfather, Ronny Allgeier. Ronny is my father’s father, who I have known all of my life. He was born January 28th, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. Later came his sister, Sharon, who was born just four years later. Raised by their parents, Sylvester and Anna May, they lived in the same house while growing up. He attended high school at St. Xavier and then entered the Air Force for four years to become a mechanic during the War of Vietnam. After returning from the war he got married to his current wife now, Rebecca. Shortly after he was a route salesman for Ehrler’s Dairy Company, and also opened up his own business known as Allgeier Sod which my father later worked for. His two sons and only children, Todd (my father) and Terry, also attended St. Xavier in Louisville. Although I have always
In the American schooling system, children begin primary school around the age of six, this is called elementary school and most students stay there for five to six years before they go on to secondary school which involves middle school and high school. After graduating high school some students may go on to “higher education” known as college, but any schooling done after high school is no longer mandatory.
1. Question: Share some of the background of your interviewee (or couple). What was this person’s/couple’s story?
For the Buoyant Grandparent visit experiment I chose to use my grandfather. He told me that every
We conducted personal interviews for each one of them (see Appendix B for interview questions).
