“I think we lost it,” Aileen pants holding on to a tree. “I think we lost ourselves in this woods,” Alex gets out before bursting out into into a fit of coughs. They were in the deeper part of the forest, a place where many creatures hide in trees or deep underground caves. The wind blows slowly and the trees rustle seeming like it was telling them to get out and run far, far away. The forest held many deaths for who wandered in, but could never find the way out. “Look at the map, we may be able to find a way to get out of this dark thicket,” Alex calls out to Aileen from a few meters away wondering in what direction they come from. “Looks like the kingdom changed when we were running, this forest is the direct opposite of Crowlfield. We have to go back to the village,” Aileen shouts back to him, looking at the map for another direction, “Unless we go on a different, longer route deeper in the forest, but we’ll cross no villages or towns,” …show more content…
They would've avoided a whole bunch of trouble. “Okay, we are in the Hetarte Forest so we should go north from here until we reach a river. Then we go upstream, since downstream is civilization and walk to a waterfall. Then we go to another stream connected to the waterfall and walk until we get out of here. At best we'll get out of here in a little over two days,” Aileen sighs in impatience at the
“Ssshhhh we need to stay as quiet as possible”, Jake said whispering under his breath then they continued there the cold icy air until they met the mouth of a pitch dark forest full of dead trees.
“I just don’t understand! I have been waiting my whole life in this-this stupid forest, hiding! I want to be where the humans are!” Maybella exclaims.
Fianna nervously pushed several loose strands of hair behind her ears and surveyed the shadowy forest. Goose bumps popped out on her forearms, sending pinpricks of pain to her fingertips. “Do you think I should tell Mom that this place isn’t as innocuous as it seems?”
"Let's head back to the road. A cold ale and a warm hearth await us in Northpoint," he said using his staff to leverage himself up the slope. "Mayhap, we will find some clues amongst the town folk."
“Cool,” Ian replies, his eyes going back and forth from the window to Mickey. He’s rather enthusiastic about all of it. “Can we go west, like towards California?” He asks after a minute, and Mickey furrows his brow.
Leon spurred on his mare to go faster and Gwaine did the same, staying close behind him as they rode passed a couple of dead tree stems. He decided he'd take Leon's word for now, because he assumed that even in this state Leon would never lie. "So has either one of you a clue on which path we take?" For a while he had seen nothing beyond the endless blanket of moss and mud pools, the track long since left behind them.
Edmund hurried down the dock to see if Sis was there. He ran as fast as he could, determined to find Sis. He got in front of Sunrise, and heard a familiar voice. He couldn’t quite figure out what the voice was saying.
Micah can see the desperation in the man’s eyes. He looks passed him to the dreary forest, debating in his mind. “Where did you leave her?”
“I know where I’m going! We just need to… err-, go that way!” He said, pointing in a slight variation of where they were originally headed.
At this, Whisperpaw widened her eyes in mock terror. “No way! When he’s grumpy, the whole forest is grumpy, too!” she replied. Owlstar grinned as he watched her pad away to the elders’ hollow, which was hidden away behind a fallen tree trunk.
Hood raised, ears covered, he drifts into the village like so many others. It is a trading outpost and little more, assisting travelers on their way east. The clouds overhead are gray and heavy with rain, threatening to spill over at any moment. Most of the villagers hurry to find shelter before the storm hits.
"This can't be right," she muttered, looking down at her phone and the walking directions it was giving to her destination. The arrow on her GPS pointed straight into what looked like part of a botanical garden; an unkempt one. Giant elephant ears and other plants she didn't recognize limited vision to mere feet, inches in some case, and there was no sign of the office. Noel frowned and turned in a slow circle, trying to orient herself. That was a joke, she thought. North was there, South was there, she was roughly 250 feet above sea level and the wind was 5 knots at 30.
“It say follow the winding road from your house to the mountain. Find the blue stone and click it twice and it will take you to the Secret Valley.” Lilly said.
“Let’s get going. There is a short hike before we get to the base of the mountain.”
“We’ll see if we can get into the forest before seven,” Lucas went on. “Whoever they’ve sent, they probably have a reliable night escort, which probably means vampires and werewolves. If there are caves in the area, then that makes it definite. If not….”
