Russell Wilson plays as the quarterback for one of the best teams in the NFL the: Seattle Seahawks. Russell visited the Microsoft campus in Seattle to talk about his life, positive attitude and discipline. Russell Wilson grew up in Ohio with both of his parents. He liked playing football and baseball. Most people underestimated him because he was short. But Russell kept a positive attitude and was able to impress everybody. He says that he wonders what type of man he would be today if he agreed to the people who underestimated him. This encouraged the audience including myself that having a positive attitude can offer you a lot of success in life. Russell states how his father inspired him and helped him become a good person. Early in the morning at about five AM he would go workout and play football. After working out, at noon he would take courses in college. Once he finished the courses he would go practice baseball with one of the best teams in the country. Russell would need sleep to play well next morning but instead, for about two hours in at night, he would visit his dad to take care of him. I am really inspired by this because he was able to focus and not give up on his schedule, because of his dedication he is able to become the legendary athlete and man he is now. As he is very good at the sport and famous he is making a lot of money. Similar to Bill Gates Russell Wilson does not waste his money he spends it on the welfare of juvenile cancer patients. I think that this very caring of him as nobody would mind if he isn’t giving. Apart from giving Russell still follows the discipline started as a young boy. It is easy to give up and start bad habits, become last etc as he has already had a lot of success in life. Russell has already earned millions to support himself for generations. I think it’s amazing that he is able to stay dedicated to being a good person. I always wondered why everyone can’t become a Russell Wilson, Roger
As a quarterback one is placed in a position where leadership skills are needed, for Wentz this had come more naturally then people had expected. Although he did not need the title of captain, Wentz had deserved it. He proved that he had skills in which all successful leaders have. Wentz was always fair and constant. He was consistently working hard on and off the field to prove to his team that he was not going to give up. He would consistently motivate his teammates, even after he had injured himself. He was fair in a sense that he did not treat any player differently than the next. He was out to help all of his teammates under any circumstance. Whenever reports would come out about Wentz, his teammates always spoke greatly of him. I have never seen a report released where someone had spoken negatively about him. He was the type of teammate any NFL team would be lucky to have. Teammates would say how selfless Wentz was and how that helped the team to succeed so early on in the season. Teammates also told the press how Wentz’s injury did not stop him from believing that the Eagles could win the Super
To start, Throughout the years, Tom Brady has proven himself as the most consistent quarterback statistically, unlike some of his lesser competition. Tom Brady holds the record for highest completion percentage per game. Not only does he have the highest completion percentage per game, but he also owns the record for most passing touchdowns in playoff history, surpassing all the greats before him. Secondly, Tom has the ability to make others around him play great. The most intriguing stat comes from the 62 different players that caught a touchdown pass from Brady. Brady’s also has the ability to help young players play at a high level in their first year thus
A woman similar to his mother played a brief but important role in his life. This person was his grandmother Ida Rebecca. Ida Rebecca and his mother did not pair well mostly because they shared a certain amount of competitiveness. It was this competitiveness that showed Russell exactly what kind of woman Ida Rebecca was. She had a domineering presence that displayed a quaint form of matriarchy over all those around her, not limited to just her children. This power humbled Russell towards adults and caused him to listen more than speak. Ida Rebecca could be considered one of his biggest benefactors. Because of this simple quality of silence she instilled in him, he was able to understand life much better. Obviously, anyone who listens more than speaks is more likely to learn more. Although she was strong, Ida did have some loose ends. She was very superstitious. Everything
Several thousand years ago, the Gods played a sport called American Football. They brought down a legendary football on Earth. They planted the football on a stone in California and decided that only the best quarterback would be able to pull this football out of the stone. They would go down in history as a hall of fame player and would be considered the best quarterback to ever play the game. After the placement of the football, many people, especially quarterbacks, have tested their strength and luck to pull it from the stone. The present day location of the football was just outside of California Memorial Stadium. None of those who have tried to pull out the football were successful.
After enduring probably the longest 7 months of his life, Tom Brady overcame adversity after beating the 4 game suspension that was handed down by NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell. There was a lot of speculation behind "deflategate" that tainted Tom Brady's name and legacy after hearing about him destroying his phone during the investigation, but in the end, Brady's suspension was overturned by a judge in court which automatically made him eligible to play against the Steelers in Week 1. During the whole ordeal, Brady remained silent and kept his name clear of any attention while the investigation was active, but on September 3rd, his suspension was nullified and Brady finally spoke out.
It was a freezing night, with snow glazing over the three-hundred and sixty foot field. The previously undefeated Patriots stood like goliath, immune to death glares and “boos” echoing around the Denver stadium. The swirl of the snow made it difficult to see exactly where the ball was, but near the end of the night, it was clear that the Broncos would soon defeat their giant, all the while being lead by an intrepid, young quarterback. This astonishing win wasn’t just a victory for the Broncos, but for Brock Osweiler as well.
Athletes deserve the money they receive because of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their passion. They wouldn 't be where they 're at just sitting on the couch all day long doing nothing. They put a lot of time and effort into their futures. Most people don 't even realize the sacrifices that a pro

Tom Brady is hated by many fans of the NFL. A lot of people hate him because they say he gets everything he wants or that he wins too much. People also hate him for things they are not even sure that he did. People do not understand that he was not always a star. Tom Brady has had a significant impact on today's society because he is an example of how underdogs can become champions, is an example of how to overcome cheating allegations, and how he is the best quarterback to ever play in the NFL.
He is notoriously known as ‘Scam Newton’ because, according to ESPN’s associated press, “The documents indicate Newton's father, Cecil Newton, and ex-Mississippi State player Kenny Rogers sought from $120,000 to $180,000 for the quarterback to sign with the Bulldogs out of junior college but didn't ask any other school for money.” Well, this has since gone in along with the other skeletons Newton holds in his closet. On the other hand, Russell Wilson; a man who has earned everything he has wanted in life. He played for the minor league team of the Colorado Rockies, they are better known as the Tri-City Dust Devils. He was drafted out of college after having a stellar career at North Carolina University as the starting quarterback, but after leaving the university for baseball he lost his starting job and was left to start over again at a different university. He was heavily favored to attend, coincidentally, the Alma mater of Cam Newton, the University of Auburn. Russell chose to attend the University of Wisconsin, On Wisconsin! He had to fight for his position and became a captain of the team within 3 months of being with the
1)Kurt Warner was not out on the field to hear his name over the speakers after he made one of his unimaginable plays. Nor did he attempt to only get results on the field. He was not the one with pom poms dancing around. He was competent in what he was there to accomplish which was take the team to the next level. At times it may have seemed like he was a cheerleader leader; however, when it was his time to step up he would drop the cheerleading act and put on the war paint and take his team onto the field and lead. Kurt Warner would reside in the Competent Managers quadrant. This is shown first when he was just a scout team quarterback when he first started playing he would keep everyone 's spirits high. During the season Trent Green went down and Kurt had to come in to fill in. During his first game he came out and had a game of a lifetime throwing for over 300 yards. Marshall Falk said, “can you get something out of someone that
It was just normal night of me and a group of friends at dinner. We just ordered our food so the whole table was discussion involving events that occurred during the week. The conversation lead to sports and Austin made a controversial statement by saying that Tom Brady was an overrated quarterback and he wouldn’t be close to the player he is without his teams’ system. That comment triggered Christopher who is a die-heart Tom Brady fan. Christopher then went on a rant how Tom Brady was the greatest quarterback of all-time. He defended Brady by saying: “Without Brady there is absolutely no way that the Patriots would have won four Super Bowl’s. Before Brady was the quarterback for the Patriots they had never won a Super Bowl.” Austin then responded explaining how he believed that Tom Brady benefited for playing under head coach Bill Belichick arguably the greatest coach of the
Steve Madden is one of America’s most successful footwear companies. The founder of the company Steve Madden himself is from Long Island, New York. The youngest of three children, Steve‘s father owned his own Textile Business. Since he was a child Steve has been troubled and he battled with drug and alcohol abuse up until his conviction in 2002. Steve worked in many retail stores when he was younger and found a love for shoes and the fashion industry at the age of 16. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Miami for two years until his father refused to pay tuition due to Steve’s poor grades. After leaving college, Steve worked for many retail companies learning the business. Steve and his friend collaborated to
In an article from the New York Times Patrick Ewing quotes “with the money I’m making now I can’t afford to support my family.” (E13). This comment is ridiculous; there is no way that a multi-millionaire should have a problem supporting their family. These athletes have to set their priorities logically and realistically, a person doesn’t “need” a multi-million dollar estate they just want one; this is what angers me. Another aspect that can be touched upon is whether or not they respect the people who provide their paychecks; those being their fans.
In thirteen years of golf, Tiger Woods has made over a billion dollars making him the highest paid athlete ever. He has been the highest paid athlete now for five years in a row. We all know that many people in the world watch him play every weekend and admire him, but is the amount of entertainment he provides really worth 128 million dollars a year? Tiger is only one of many professional athletes who are extremely overpaid. “People forget that sports is entertainment,” says Leonard Armato, a sports agent. Although professional athletes provide entertainment for millions of viewers around the world, they are overpaid because the millions of dollars that they make could be distributed more evenly throughout society and go to things of a
