Violence is a behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something. Violence has been a huge issue in America for a while. Nowday's violence is all over the place. Violence is seen in media, TV, video games, etc.
America has had a violence problem for centuries. In the eyes of America violence is loved, in fact some of us pay to watch violence at the movies. Parents also buy violent video games for their kids. Kids nowadays aren't as affected by violence like they used to be. Before violence was hardly even broadcasted on Media and it was hardly ever seen on TV. Certain businesses make money off of violence like hockey for instance, some actually like watching the sport and then others just come along to watch the fights which means they're making more than they would've if hockey didn't have fights. Mixed martial arts is more violent than boxing and have the ratings been skyrocketing but the profits have as well (Heroux, 2017). Perhaps it is our inability to engage in this same kind of analysis about our motivations that has left us so stunned by the crime wave and so helpless before it.

There are about 10,000 gun homicides that occur a year and 20.000 gun suicides that occur a year (Heroux, 2013). The United States has far more gun related killings than any other developed country, but not the most of any country. However gun violence is not the leading cause of violence in America, it is simply just the most salient (Heroux, 2013). People who loves owning or shooting guns don't necessarily love violence. There are plenty of people who own guns but would never think about using it on someone. There are different types of violence, different types of solutions, and different types of ways of approaching these solutions due to this violence. There is no one size fits all
