hey does anyone remember when okcupid was an online quiz site? i do. the world seemed a lot easier those days, when answering a few questions would allow me to gain insight into my deepest desires, personality and which teenage mutant ninja turtle i was most like. inevitably, the natural paradox of improved technology and interconnectedness is that with increased ease of access and simplicity also comes unforeseen complexities. gone are the halcyon days of quizilla—we find ourselves in the fast-paced, no-nonsense era of buzzfeed, a site which can determine “which magic mike star you should get a lapdance from” with a terrifying, deadly efficiency.
so basically the point i am trying to get at with all the introductory crap i just spewed is that i’m a big fan of questionnaires that can compartmentalize and label the various facets of my personality. i vastly prefer being told what i am rather than wasting countless hours on earnest self-reflection and independently constructing a sense of self on purpose because ain’t nobody got time or the bugspray for that walden shit.
however, since i deign myself superior to the superficial diagnoses provided by buzzfeed and its various other modern contemporaries, i only subscribe to the most traditional and old-school pseudosciences such as astrology, numerology, geomancy, graphology, etc. i also believe in the mbti or myers-briggs type indicator based on jung’s theory of personality/archetypes because that stuff was developed almost a
The first party is the patient himself or herself or the person, such as a parent, responsible for the patient’s health bill. The second party, often called providers is the physician, clinic, hospital, nursing home, or the healthcare entity rendering the care. The third party is the payer, and uninvolved insurance company or health agency that pays the physician, clinic, or other secondary party provider for the care or services rendered to the first party.
Solving My People Puzzle Phase 1 involves discovering my personality. This paper will bring to light how I operate through the descriptions that are provided, throughout this paper. Part of this assignment, I had to submit a survey to at least two of the people who knew me best and they had to describe me based on the questions that were on the survey. I also had to participate on an online assessment and disclose its results. This journey of discovering me, made me come face to face (according to the assessment), the “me
1) Patty owned Patty’s Cakes in Jacksonville, Florida. She sold her business to Fruity’s, Inc. a national pastry company. There was a non-compete agreement in the contract for the sale of her business. In the non-compete, Patty agreed not to work in any capacity in the food industry for 10 years on the entire east coast. A court would likely determine that the non-compete agreement
ALSO - people are rarely a “pure” form or completely one way or the other – most are an amalgam – so when responding to any question on any personality / psychological test, go with your first instinct as to what the best response is for you.
Some of them I felt were truly accurate, and some of the others showed me characteristics of myself I’ve never realized that I am, like a very defiant individual because on two out of the three we took it seemed I couldn’t really be put into a certain category. The Myers-Briggs test was the only one exception because it had you definitely put into one, single group. My result was that I had the Advocate personality, in the Diplomatic arena. It said I was, “a very rare category, making up less than one percent of the population, but that they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As members of the Diplomat Role group, Advocates have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is that they are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting, positive impact. And though soft-spoken, they have very strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea they believe in.” Which I believe is pretty spot on for me, though I would have never been able to come up with that description of
They suggest that measuring one’s characteristics such as sociability, drive, self-determination and demeanor can aid one to better interpret and discern them introspectively. By taking the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) I am able to compare my personality traits to careers in which I may enjoy, will fit my individual personality and enable me to be successful say Drummond, Jones & Sheperis (2016). The results of my self-administered inventory are as follows; Introvert (I) 55%, Intuitive (N) 76%, Feeling (F) 86% and Perceiving (P) 67%. The four dimensions of the inventory seem to be very accurate for the manner in which I view myself. The result of INFP suggests that my personality shows a predominant association with being in a career in which I am able to care for others, such as a healer. This is a correlate with my first career as a firefighter and
The results of the questions ‘Who am I’ were categorised into one of the four of Rosenberg’s categories. (Appendix B) and then the totals were added for each category. These totals were in turn, worked into percentages. These percentages are shown in a chart. (Appendix C). The percentage scores for the category physical decreases from 100% to 45% across the 8 year difference. Participant A, Annie scored 100% in physical attributes. None of the participants’ answers were interpreted as scoring in the characteristic or relationships categories, but participant B, Adam scored the majority, 55% of his answers in the ‘inner ‘section. These results collated would concur with Rosenberg’s findings that with age, ones self descriptors move away from physical attributes to more personal beliefs.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) “is an introspective self-report questionnaire designed to indicate psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions” (13). It is one of several personality assessments that is popular among modern mental health experts throughout the world. Currently, it is estimated that the MBTI is “taken by more than two million people per year and is translated into 16 languages (10). “The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people 's lives” (4).
This assessment shows its strength by the fact that I feel as though it matches with my life. Based on the work of Carl Jung, Isabel Myers and Katherine Briggs developed the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator, a self-inventory geared toward helping individuals determine their personality types and individual areas of strength. “By helping people understand themselves, Myers and Briggs believed that they could help people select occupations that were best suited to their personality types and lead healthier, happier lives” (Cherry, 2015).
