Those children can experience negative physical, school, and mental health issues. Kids who are bullied are more likely to experience. These issues may persist into adulthood. Three actions that I would take to address the issue with bullying at school and the challenges I might encounter taking the action to address each and achieve my goals.
The issue of bullying at school is one of the issues I passionate person because I have the experience three years ago with my own son. Yes, some of the responsibility is on the children, the victim, the bully, and the bystanders, but the other half is for the adults
To expect greatness in any field of life, it all starts from a place of quality education and that's what America has constantly strived for. School is the place where everyone is given equal opportunity to learn and shape himself or herself into contributing members of society. Bullying is an issue that is very near and dear to my heart. I was bullied in elementary school because I was taller and weighed more than the average students in my classes. I was constantly called “fat girl” by my classmates, and was told that I couldn’t play sports with them because I was “too fat.” I told my teacher about what was going on and nothing was done.

One of the main issues that strikes our world, and that many people, especially teenagers, suffer every day is bullying. Bullying is something I will like to solve or at least decrease, not only because I was a victim of it in the past but because it is one of the top reasons adolescents commit suicide in the past decade. This is an issue that immensely concerns me, I feel that by making that unfortunate decision they lose the opportunity of a change and the opportunity to experience all the beautiful things a pleasurable life has to offer.
When someone uses higher strength to influence, intimidate or force the victim to do what they want is known around the world as a bully. Bullying has become a big problem in the U.S. as days go by it seems like there is nothing that can stop this problem. There are different types of bullying and different places that bullying can occur. There is physical bullying, verbal bullying, relational aggression, cyber bullying, sexual bullying, and prejudicial bullying. But the most common ones are physical bullying, cyber bullying, and relational bullying. Bullying can also occur in different places like at home, at school, at parks, at workplaces, etc. In recent time periods, all around the country the number of suicides among teens have been rising, unfortunately due to bullying. To protect the students more, the department of education should start to apply some more strict rules against bullying. Although bullying can make someone raise their confidence, the victim is helpless and insecure so this problem needs to be stopped as a result, the possible victims can feel safe and protected out in the public.
This chapter will be examining schools in context, including bullying. To start this there will be a review of what basic bullying is. There will be an explanation of the Zero-Tolerance policy. Specifically, the different forms of bullying that occur in the school context. There was a study done by Taylor& Francis Group with “An analysis of bullying among students within Schools…” After there will be a description of someone who is a potential target for bullying and how to handle it, if you are being bullied. To conclude this chapter, the effects of bullying will be gone through to help see what happens to the students that are victims of bullying and do not know where to turn to or feel like they have anyone that will be able to help them.
Hugues Sampasa-Kanyinga, Paul Roumeliotis, and Hao Xu’s (2014) study analyzed the connection between students (7-12 grade students) being bullied through the use of electronic communication and students bullied at school with three dependent variables (ideation, planning, and attempt), also part of the purpose was to examine if depression had any effect on either the independent or dependent variables. Sampasa-Kanyinga et al. investigated the hypothesis that cyberbullying and school bullying increased the formation of ideas about suicide, planned strategies and the actual try to commit suicide and how the last three dependent variables were influenced by depression (p. 2).
Bullying in the school system can be handled appropriately if action is taken immediately. In order for this problem to be solved, students who are being bullies to other students need to go to an alternative school for a few weeks and then find a support group to go to once or twice a week to help them deal with their anger/emotions. It will make the child’s life manageable and will prevent them from potentially harming another students’ life. According to Horne, Stoddard, and Bell (2007), “Recognizing that bullying and aggression result in negative academic, emotional, and behavioral consequences, a number of programs have been developed in the last century to address the problem of bullying and aggression in schools” (pg. 264).
