When you love someone so much, do you follow your feelings or do you let the rules get in your way? If you were given a choice between following what you believe in and just following the rules, what would you pick? The same concept applies with the issue of abortion. Abortion a procedure that deliberately removes a fetus in a woman's womb has been a major issue tackled by numerous countries and worldwide society. It is a process of taking away a child before it is able to live in the outside world. Through the years, it has been a debatable topic being talked about by various sectors and individuals, even here in the Philippines. It is very controversial because of the valid reasons on both sides; either you are pro-choice wherein you …show more content…
By giving them a choice on whether to abort their child or not, they are also entitled with safety in regards to aborting their child. Through this, the woman would have the chance or the opportunity to just approach a licensed doctor authorized by the government and other health organizations, who is capable of conducting a more successful operation. In addition to that, women would also be assured to have a safe abortion, and they do not have to go to unauthorized "doctors" who does not perform a hygienic and correct process. This would decrease the deaths of women who secretly conduct abortion, and it would be more regulated in a way where it is clearer and properly done. This legalization is actually a better solution for women or couples who want to abort because they know that they are in good hands and they feel that they are not doing anything illegal. The safety of the mother is more significant because her life is at stake, not like the fetus who is not assured to be alive, and also if it is wanted or not.
In addition to the rights and safety of women, legalizing abortion also helps our economy in some way. Passing a law that will allow abortion would also contribute on the control of our growing population. Especially our country getting overpopulated because of our small land area and unequal distribution of people, there should be at
The legality of abortions in all states has not fully been resolved and continues to be a controversial issue. No one is really for abortion; people just believe that the woman should have a choice. Whether abortions are legal or illegal, they will still always be performed. If they are kept legal, women get to keep their rights and also protect their lives. There are many pros and cons to both sides of the issue and that is why abortion is such a controversial
Personal liberty is guaranteed by the Constitution. Another important right of common law is to choose. This is enough to allow women to decide whether or not to stop pregnancy. Without this interpretation the whole concept of personal liberty would mean little to women. A man can easily break the relations when he finds out about a pregnancy. He makes his choice, and no one doubts it. It is fair to say then that a woman should have the same choice. Pregnancy and childbirth may determine if a woman ever gets an education, and as a result, if she will be able to support herself and a child. Women may also find themselves pregnant in the beginning or middle of the career. Or, couples choose abortion to start their families when they feel ready and able to raise their children. Finally, in some situations, giving birth may result in a medical complication, trauma, or even woman's death. At a global scale, abortions contribute to the resolving of the overpopulation problem, potentially the worst problem of the coming generations. Meanwhile, only in the US over a million of abortions are done every year.
Abortions will always happen and keeping it legal would make it safer. It is a simple question between medical attention or terrifying home methods. “women who do not want to be pregnant will try to end their pregnancies… Rat poison,
For thousands of woman with heart disease, kidney disease, and other sicknesses that can be life threatening, the availability of legal abortion has helped avert medical complication that could have resulted from childbirth. Before legal abortion, many women’s choices were limited to dangerous illegal abortions, or dangerous childbirth.
Since the Roe v Wade (1973) case, over 58 million pregnancies have been terminated. Many pro-life supporters have tried to get the Supreme Court to overturn the case because they feel as if the fetus should be covered by the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution which states that all citizens born or naturalized in the United States have the right to citizenship. Pro-life supporters consider the fetus living, just inside of a different body. Having the case overturned will make abortion illegal and that would cause many problems for many women such as losing the rights to control their body. Although many people feel as if women should not have the right to terminate a pregnancy because there are people in the world willing to adopt a child, abortion should be legal because some women are unprepared for a child due to income, mentally unstableness as the aftermath of a rape, or judgement based on their religious beliefs.
The mother has the right of protection over the fetus as suggested by the Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade because the fetus is not a rational person that can be protected by the constitution. Women are human beings who are guaranteed the rights the rights to choice and privacy by the Fourteenth Amendment. Abortion also has utilitarian benefits because it reduces the births of poor and socially disordered children who may cause crime in future. It also allows the women to participate normally in socioeconomic activities and contribute to the proper functioning of society. Without abortion, women might have children without being ready to face the duties and responsibilities of raising them, which leads to low quality of life. Women have the right to choose the right time to have children. Therefore, abortion should be legalized in all
Throughout history and prevailing to modern times, abortion has proved to be one of the largest controversies in America. There are two main stances on abortion: pro-life and pro-choice. People who are pro-life believe that abortion is inhumane and should not be conducted. On the other hand, ones who are pro-choice support and work towards reducing abortion, preventing unwanted pregnancies, educating women and the youth, promoting contraception, and guaranteeing that families have the obligatory resources to raise fit children. Although the pro-choice movement is heavily supported by women and men who believe in reproductive freedom and abortion as a fundamental human right, recent changes and lack-there-of in the U.S. government considering abortion laws have proved America to be ambiguous on their stance on abortion as pro-choicers are constantly fighting for their rights.
Another argument in favor of abortions is the issue of freedom. If a woman chooses to end her pregnancy, she should have the freedom to do so. Taking away this freedom would be taking away a basic right. A fetus is part of a woman’s body and it would be illogical to restrict a woman’s choice to go through with the procedure. Moreover, the government and prolife activists should not try to regulate the practices of abortion; the fact of the matter is that an abortion is
Keeping abortions legal will keep things safe. Abortion is a private matter between a woman and her doctor. Human rights are guaranteed for everyone. Ant-abortion laws cause stress for families that don’t have the resources for a baby. Abortions are safe medical procedures. The overall abortion complication rate is low, and about 25 times lower than child birth (pro choice action network). A recent study has shown the majority of women, 88%, who have abortions do it in their first trimester. The medical abortions have had less than a 0.5% risk of serious complications (10 arguments for and against abortions). Abortion is not a form of contraception. Adoption is not an alternative to abortion. It will still be up to the woman to decide to give her child up for adoption. Statistics have shown that few women who give birth choose to give up their babies. In some cases woman are advised from their doctor to proceed with an abortion due to medical reasons either with the mother or child. Abortions becoming illegal will not stop procedures from happening. The death rates would increase from infections and unsanitary
Over the past few centuries state and federal laws concerning a females reproductive rights have changed dramatically. The female population has been greatly affected by many laws regarding their reproductive rights and their ability to make educated decisions about family planning. The 1973 case Roe vs. Wade set the motion to allow women to control their bodies and their decision to end a pregnancy through abortion. Prior to this case, in almost all 50 states abortions were deemed illegal.
Abortion was legalized when the Roe v. Wade court was held the decision was made in 1973.
For nowadays, the justification of abortion because of economic reasons is just heinous. Unfortunately, many people is in this case. The mother just do not have the correct way to raise a child on their own and they see abortion is the solution. Now while this concluding paragraph may sound like I am for the pro-choice side of abortion, I am definitely for the pro-life side of abortion from a depressive realist mentality. Abortion is a terrible thing but people tend to do crazy things when they are desperate. The sad truth is that the United States needs to keep abortion legalized. If it was not for abortion being legalized, the amount of “homemade” abortions would skyrocket, along with that, the number of accidental deaths from performing
Abortion is a woman’s right. Women have the choice to not want to have a baby because of their own reasons. It’s their body, and they can do whatever they want with it. A solution is to spread the word to people and ask to protest with pro-choice activists. In the article, “What Women’s Lives are Like When Abortion is a Crime,” Alice Driver explains the lives of women when abortion is a crime to them instead of a right. Her argument is towards that fact the House of Representatives passed the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act”, which abortion is considered a crime. People who are register to vote can help use their vote to revoke the act. Having the right to have an abortion is important because personally it is my right to do whatever I want with my body. Just like the women who are not capable of having a child, rape/incest victims, transgender, and are simply not ready. I’ve seen family members who have had abortions and I sometimes wonder what their life would be if they didn’t. They are now mothers and even through it’s hard to raise another, they were ready.
Overall, I don't believe abortion should be a method that should be restricted and women should not be frowned upon society for her choice over her body, abortion is a choice that a woman would not want to re-live. Harder abortion laws will push women to the edge to make the harsh decision of getting an illegal abortion which may lead to her death. If women can't have the right to have a say over their

By the early twenty-first century, abortion has come to be one of the most heated political issues in the world. In many Western nations, abortion is a divisive topic that is usually argued between those who support the left political view and individuals who advocate for the right. Those on the left supports the rights of the mother to control her reproductive rights while the abortion opponents, often times labeling the procedure as. Those who advocate for the rights of the woman are called Pro-Choice while its counterpart is named Pro-Life supporters. In some other countries, once this procedure is legalized it often caused little to no change. As of 2017, an estimated two hundred thousand ten million abortions are performed yearly in various parts of the world, and at least twenty-one million of those are considered to be illegal. “Around thirteen percent deaths are due to the unsafe conditions and or abortion related complications.” This essay will examine the history of countries prior to the installation of abortion and the effects abortion has had on it once being instilled.
