The United States of America had a very great leader during the years of 1933-1945. This man led our country and achieved many accomplishments and had many outstanding outcomes before and throughout his Presidency. I will address who Franklin D. Roosevelt was and his well-known accomplishments and his last days as President in 1945.
Franklin D. Roosevelt was born on January 30th, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York to James and Sara Delano Roosevelt. He was the only child but had an older half brother, James Roosevelt from his father’s first wife Rebecca Howland but she died in 1876. Franklin was a well-known man because of his name and his family wealth. Franklin was a well-determined individual and wanted to accomplish so much that he even wanted to enlist in the armed forces, but President Wilson urged against it, citing his important service in the Navy Department. In 1920 the Democratic Party nominated Ohio Governor James M. Cox for President and Franklin D. Roosevelt for Vice President but unfortunately they lost and were defeated by Republicans Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge. He later was elected Governor of New York State in 1928 and 1930 for two two-year terms. By 1932, Franklin D.
