2.1. Chassis Frame:
Chassis is the main part for all the components including the body to carry the whole weight. The word chassis comes from a French term and was initially used to denote as the basic structure of the vehicle. Chassis is considered as the back bone of the vehicle. The components of the vehicle like motor, transmission system and axles, wheels and tires, suspension systems, braking systems, steering etc., and also electrical system parts are mounted on the Chassis frame.
Layout of Chassis and its main Components:
Figure: Layout of chassis of our electric vehicle (EV).
The main components of the Chassis are:
1. Frame: It is made up of long two members called side members riveted together with the help of number of cross members.
2. Engine or Power

Construction and operation of Drum Brakes:
The main components of drum brakes are
1. Backing plate: The backing plate provides a base for the other components. It attaches to the axle sleeve and provides a non-rotating rigid mounting surface for the wheel cylinder, brake shoes, and assorted hardware. Since all braking operations exert pressure on the backing plate, it must be strong.
2. Brake drum: The brake drum is generally made of a special type of cast iron that is heat-conductive and wear-resistant. It rotates with the wheel and axle. When a driver applies the brakes, the ensuing friction slows or stops rotation of the wheel and axle, and stops the vehicle.
3. Brake shoes: The brake shoes contact the rotating drum for braking option providing lining on their outer surfaces.
4. Brake Liners
5. Retaining springs: The retaining is spring is provided for bringing the brake shoes back to its original position after releasing the break pedal.
6. Cam: The cam is used to lift the brake shoes at one end, other end is connected by some method so as to make as the brake sleeve come into contact
7. Brake Linkages
All these parts are fitted in the back plate and enclosed with brake
The outer racer of the bearing is fastening into the boss. The whole subassembly is then attached with the steering arm, stub axle by means of welded joints and the plate welded to the chassis by means of Rod end bearing(2). The steering arm is joined with the steering rod by swivel joint as shown in the fig1.

Everything starts with the wheel speed sensors. Wheel sensors consist of a magnetic pickup and a toothed sensor ring or a slotted collar. In some applications, the sensor is an integral part of the wheel bearing and hub assembly. In others, the sensor ring(s) may be mounted on the axle hub behind the brake rotor, on the brake rotor itself, inside the brake drum, on the transmission

The development and use of the disk brakes was fist in England in the 1980’s. Frederick William Lanchaster was the first guy that patented the first ever caliper-type disk brake in his Birmingham factory in 1902 and it was used successfully on his Lanchaster cars. He struggled to keep up the maintenance of a quality brake because of the limited choice of metals in the period of time. Causing him to use copper as the braking medium acting on the disk. However, due to the bad road conditions, it didn’t allow copper to last very long because copper can wear out easily, making the disk brake system non-viable.
A motherboard (mobo) is basically the main circuit board of a computer system. All the different components such as CPU, memory, hard drives, optical drives, video card and sound card are attached individually to the motherboard. However, the motherboard is perhaps the most essential hardware component of a computer system as it enables all the other
the wheel is farther away from the axle than the bottom, it’s called positive camber. If the bottom is
While conducting the inspection, due to the damage to front of the vehicle, I was unable to check the braking system. There appeared to be sufficient depth on the two front brake pads as well as sufficient brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir. With the above mentioned findings, it would indicate that Vehicle 1 had a properly functioning brake system prior to the crash.
into bettering the efficiency of these cars and trucks. Not only is it the brake
Have you noticed gear oil leaking from your vehicle’s rear wheel? Is there are a roaring noise? Have you ever wondered how difficult it could be to replace the rear axle bearing and seal? Well, then you certainly need to replace it with the best. With a team of certified online professionals, Brake Needs offers high quality rear axle bearing at the best price. Before you replace the rear axle bearings, you should know a few things.
Brakes – Keeping the brakes in good shape on your K5 Blazer is part of your regular maintenance schedule. Even with regular maintenance, you may find that the rotor may become warped or the calipers can stick. When you need to replace these, we can help. We have these parts and more like ABS parts, parking brake parts, pads, vacuum booster and drums.
The skeleton is the framework of bones, it structures the body, support to the body and protects the internal organs of the body. It also allows the muscles to move freely during the mechanism of locomotion.

Various modern equipments and processing methods are used for the manufacturing of new type of brakes. Some of them are Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines, Laser cutting machinery and Chemical processing (anodize and conversion coating).
