Nowadays, there are so many short stories, talking about the science fiction, the philosophical, and the allegory in the world and society. One of the most favorite short stories I really like to read in my life was the literature. For me, themes in literature is a sort of the commentary built by thinkers or a simple language to help everyone knows more about the ideas, motifs throughout the stories. Without literature, we lack insight and understanding of human nature between the character and the reader in society. There are one of the most beautiful and famous short stories that I fell in love are called "The Man Who Was Almost a Man." Money and happiness are the eternal desire of mankind. Money cannot buy the most precious things in life, but no money, it is hard to be able to get things like happiness or love by responsibility in their lives. Dave a little boy who always dedicated in his life to fulfilling her greedy expectations to make money, love, and happiness for his mother. The narrator had used the symbol of darkness in this story to highlights the main difficult things about the responsibility, humiliation, money, and powerful that Dave work for his family. Therefore, Dave is always thought that in the darkness, there was no life but the ghosts in the fairy tales who would come alive, so he refused to go out after the sun had set. Even though, the author Wright has describes Dave's relationship with the gun as a clandestine affair involving lies, deceit, and secret locales.
