The Manhattan Project is by far the most significant event that occurred in World War II and is still relevant in physics today. Scientists in the mid 20th century struggled immensely to produce and understand the concepts of an atomic bomb, but currently it is easier to grasp and understand the physics behind an atomic bomb due to simulations online that can be simply accessed.
