In a general apprehension path is defined as the route or course along which something travels or moves. In the concept of human being it involves to follow our destiny. The concept of path raise much debate mostly about whether our path is deciding by us or someone else. Many christian argue that their path is already written before they even born, but in my point of view we are the only master of our path because of our power to choose and decide.
In my point of view our path is deciding by us because we are able to take our own decision. For example when I was much younger I decided by myself to get involve in sport activity. It only happens because I choose and because I wanted to that let think that obviously I chose my path and the route that I want to follow. In the “Hunger games” Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister place in the Hunger Game. The fact that the game's organizer let her volunteer mean to me she chooses her path which was participated in the hunger game. Everything that follow was just the result of her choice. In that same way the power I have to choose to play sport would have consequence such meet new people, travel to new, and do thing which will follow with consequences.
Some religious and societal beliefs push us through the idea that our path is not in our hand. They state that we are always influenced by external cause, and the limitation of our life choice. For example in the Truman Show Truman has a path already
The choices we decide to make build our path in life. If we make the right choices, then your life will be the life you want to live. I believe that we were all destined with some kind of purpose. However, the choices we make will determine whether we fulfill that purpose or not. Thus, our choices will ultimately decide our fate. Through the years, we have been taught about choices and their impact on our actions. We have free will in the sense that we can either go on one road or the other. We decide what we do on a daily basis, moment by moment, and we decide what path we want to go on. In the novel, Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag was a fireman who had his life entirely changed when he met a 17 year old girl named Clarisse, and an old woman who
Human interaction, culture and the ways of living within a society can be altered in order for the rehabilitation of humanity. The Hunger Games is based on what was once North America now called Panem, a nation separated into twelve districts each functioning individually but all connected and dictated by President snow. The division between districts within the Capitols jurisdiction causes chaos which is created by President Snow who supports the hierarchy of power, creating an unstable city and leaving most poor districts to survive and wealthy districts to thrive. Human behavior and humanity are displayed throughout The Hunger Games but it is predominantly shown between the function and the structure of The Hunger Games, the districts and their cultures and the main character and how she survives in a post-apocalyptic world. The Hunger Games is a complex
Until page 50 it was a perfect beginning , and I had a good time in reading this pages and a lot of something to learn and something make me feel interest, such as, the deep description of the characters, places, and even food which made me feel the moment and as if I were living with them. Also, the way that the author had depicted how people suffered because of the hanger and poverty. Another thing that I want to notice about is that girl – Katniss – who was the ideal sister and daughter, when she prefers to go to The Hunger Games instead of her sister – Prim- ,and when she takes care of her ill mother. Furthermore, while all the bad things that happened to her and all the responsibilities that placed on her, but it didn't prevented her
Can you imagine the feeling knowing that at anytime, a close one could be taken away. A best friend could be stolen. A family member could be killed. Even yourself could be sacrificed for nothing. Do you think that the emotions a family member may encounter, the sadness of an entire community, or even just the thought of dying, is worth it to provide a dominant government their “Hollywood ending”? Well, in the book “The Hunger Games” written by Suzanne Collins, Katniss Everdeen lives in a dystopian society where her community is divided by 13 different groups. Each year, their government randomly selects two participants from each group to play in the Hunger Games, which is a fight to the death among the other participants. In the book, Katniss’
In the history of cinema, most movies involving a hero 's journey involve mostly the same plot; man gets a call, goes on a journey, gets in a battle or two, and saves the helpless woman from some evil source. The Hunger Games has the same plot as other hero films, but takes a complete turn on the actor encompassing the hero. The hero in this film is a Katniss Everdeen, a poor girl from a dystopian society. In this film Katniss volunteers for her sister to be in the Hunger Games, which is an event where individuals are thrown into an arena where people from twelve districts fight each other to the death for entertainment. Katniss must win the hunger games and make it back to her family. Katniss eventually befriends Peta and they defeat all obstacles and win the Hunger Games together. The Hunger Games is a perfect example of a hero 's journey plot. It follows the steps that any hero journey movie would, including the call, crossing the threshold, a supreme ordeal, companions and mentors, a transformation and the end gift. This film encompasses the classic hero journey plot, with an exception of having a strong female lead instead of male.
The proverb “All roads lead to Rome” refers to the fact that many different routes can lead to the same result. Likewise, the path to one’s destiny depends on the person. For example, Tony’s journey to his destiny in Rudolfo Anaya’s Bless Me, Ultima is different than Paikea’s in Witi Ihimaera’s Whale Rider. Their destinies are different, but their destinies are inevitable events, regardless of the path they take to achieve it. However different their journeys may be, there are always certain elements that are universal among all journeys to destiny.
In The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins expresses two themes. The first one is that we can’t let the government use their power to treat, and use people like they want, they are oppressing them. “At one o’clock, we head of the square. Attendance is mandatory unless you are on deaths door. This evening, officials will come around and check to see if this is the case. If not you will be imprisoned.” (Collins, 16) we can see that the Capitol forces the people to participate in the reaping by threatening them. “When I was younger, I scared my mother to death, the things I would blurt out about District 12, about the people who rule our country, Panem, from the far-off city called the Capitol. Eventually I understood this would only lead us to
This quote is showing the power the Capitol has and whatever they do no matter how bad it is there is nothing you can do and even if you do you will pay a severe consequence. In the hunger games they were able to prove there power by destroying district 13 so that they can intimidate the other 12 capitols so if they make any threats to the Capitol they will pay the price each district left is being forced to fight in the hunger games and as much as this anger each person of each district there is nothing to do but either cooperate in the hunger games while killing innocent people or suffer in misery while having to watch them die or if not involved in the hunger games having to live a life of unhappiness and pain just managing to live day by
Fate and free will are epic subjects in life. When we cannot control something we blame it on fate, but we try to change the way things are with our free will.
Who controls our destiny in life; our path to success? Ourselves, we control our own destiny to a certain limit. In the passage Into the Wild the author Jon Krakauer explains how one man, Chris McCandless, sent his destiny into the wild but died by following his path to fate. His death was the limit I referred to. Chris finds himself hitchhiking to Alaska to get away from his past to start his new journey of life. He was then known as Alexander Supertramp because he even changed his name so no one could find him, not even his parents. Though Chris dies in the end, he still was able to control his own path into the woods. No matter the difficulty of the situation you can always find yourself a new path.
Most people have heard of the Hunger Games, but don’t know the true meaning. People say it’s a book (or movie) about innocent people getting slaughtered. It may look like that but there is so much more depth. When authors write books, they add their perspective and beliefs. It could be about government, religion and many more controversial topics. In the Hunger Games, the author Suzanne Collins shows what she thinks about government. She does this by relating the Hunger Games to the gladiators and Ancient Roman times. Even the names of characters relate. Hunger Games may not be a sweet and innocent book, but there is a good lesson behind all the violence.
The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins illustrates a dystopian society where the government tries to apply a perfect society to maintain the power in all of Panem. The author shows an elaborate and horrifying description of a society not so unlike our own and provides a clear warning about the danger of governmental control. The government of Panem has a government which controls everything. The government shows totalitarianism, a post-apocalyptic setting, and the world ranks. These three main points are what shows how the The Hunger Games is a great example of a dystopian literature.
Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken" tells of someone faced with one of life's major decisions whereas only one direction can be chosen. Whichever road is taken will be final and will determine the direction that their life takes.
is that there is no Right path, just a chosen path and the other path
A dystopia in the 21st Century consists of an unpleasant society that's made to seem as if it were a utopian world, but in reality is quite the opposite because of its unjust laws and rules, oppressive society, and harsh rulers. According to John Adams the word "dystopia" comes from Greek origin meaning literally a "bad place. [2] Dystopian fiction is a literary genre that "explores" political and social structures, usually of a futuristic setting. This genre has grown to be immensely popular, especially in the "Teen" category. The dystopia genre is relatively new as it's less than a century old. The dystopias usually consist of a protagonist going against a system made to seem like a utopia and fighting its oppressive government in hopes of defeating it and freeing themselves along with everyone else.
