The idea of The Matrix was to portray an artificial hero by bringing his character into a virtual reality. The reality tends to undermine what’s real from what’s fake. The whole existence of the Matrix was from a make believe place that claimed he had super powers. The way that the Matrix lived could be compared to our present society today. For example, the way we operate in cyber space or in space is the same way that the Matrix lived in his fictitious world. He staged this place to convince the audience that he was real. Weir’s, Trumann Show is the story of Truman Burbank, a man that his fair and an overall truthful individual, whom becomes a star of a reality television show. Truman‘s life is displayed in 5000 cameras hidden in a town called Seahaven. The show’s producers carefully plant advertising throughout Seahaven to discreetly prevent Truman from desiring to leave. Therefore, The Truman Show offers an unselfish account of both consumerism and the dishonesty of individuals. While demonstrating psychological wonder such as the onlooker effect and conventional conditioning, it also discovers spiritual perceptions such as the nature of realism and the moral consequences of the misuse of privacy. As the motivation for the name of The Truman Show is complex, the film is also a symbolic of the dangers of public media on the essence of at risk individuals in society. Current culture would do well to generate actions to protect the plight of Truman Burbank from becoming reality. The Truman show reflects, what is still being displayed on reality television today, with shows such as survivor and big brother’s house which none of them are real.
