I woke up 4 am Christmas morin’ thinking why i told that story to ya’ll those Logans. Everytime it hits me just hit me and i’se come balling every time. I stayed in bed the rest of the morin’ thinking why i had to lose all my family. I heard Cassie, Christopher John, and Little Man knocking on the door around sunrise. I didn’t answer. When the sky was bright and the cold mississippi wind blew, I trudged out of the shack in the snow and went up to the back door, thinking I should go say Merry Christmas or Good Morin’. I got to the door and it opened up very slow like it was some kind of sloth not wanting’ to move. When I got to the Logan’s, Cassie, Christopher John and Little Man ran up to me. “ Why ya stay in that shack all morin’ Mr. Morrison” Asked Little Man confused. “ Slept in,” I stated trying not to sound as sad as I was. “ Thanks for telling us that story about your childhood last night, Mr. Morrison. I really enjoyed it.” Cassie uttered as if she wasn’t suppose to utter anything. Miz. Mr. Logan has already took me in from the railroads after i had that fight with those white men and i think that is a pretty good present. “ ya’ll need any help with cookin’” I announced as if I was in the government or something.
