Mobile phone is a universally technology invention that has a major impact on human life, especially for adolescents. It is widely used as basic necessities for teenagers in their daily routine. One of the gadget interview claimed that the motives of adolescents purchasing smartphones are contradicted all the time. Based on the summary collected from the interviewee’s perspective and academic findings, this essay will discuss the motives of teenagers using mobile phone including convenience, improving social self-identity and fashion trends.

Mobile phone is no longer a conventional tool for contacting people (Castells et al., 2007). It has transformed itself into a multimedia technology instrument to satisfy basic needs for the society. Nowadays, teenagers use lot of device and applications for convenience. The mobile phone has improved for better functions with powerful batteries and decorative designs. The design also changes to adapt to consumer’s need with new, lighter and portable design that proved attractive for consumers to use (reading 2). Based on reading 1, the Japanese terminology “keitai” also means that something you carry, indicates cell phone are everyday artifacts adjacent to the individual user’s body.
Firstly, text messaging provides the best convenience for teenagers as they can facilitates faster communications within a short duration and at the affordable price (reading 2). As one teen noted, texting “allows you to do more than one thing at a time.”…
