Introduction Throughout the semester, I have come to learn many individual qualities about myself. However, they were qualities I had secretly already known. Obviously, anybody you meet is going to be confident about how self-aware they may be about themselves, but, only when you sit down and confront your personality you can discover who you really are. In terms of my self-awareness, I am clearly aware of who I am, yet I can be unaware of my tendencies. As a person, I can often loose track of the things I repeatedly say and do. I am an Extrovert, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging individual. To further describe my personality, ESTJ’s show traits of being open-minded, hard working, outspoken, and rational (ESTJ, 2017). Interestingly, the Myers Briggs test does a successful job of identifying my personality traits. Furthermore, as an ESTJ, I can be described as loyal, honest, organized and strong-willed. Yet ESTJ’s can also be described as stubborn, judgemental, and emotionally unavailable (ESTJ Strengths, 2017). Although I can fit a number of these traits like hard-working, organized and rational, in my eyes, the Myers Briggs only opens a small window of who I really am and what my personality is. Organizational Behaviour Improving Performance and Commitment in the Workplace (2016), describes people with Type A behaviour as having, “a strong sense of time urgency and tend to be impatient, hard-driving and have a strong desire to achieve,” as well as, “aggressive and competitive” (p.189). As a person with Type A behaviour, I am very goal orientated and I always strive to be the best I can be. Very cliché, but, how else can you describe it? I set difficult yet reasonable goals to achieve because I am not only responsible for myself; I am responsible for the well-being and success of my family too. In University, I strive to succeed, not pass, but excel to the best of my ability. Saying that, I have been able to maintain an 81% average throughout my first year of studies, even earning a $1200 scholarship this year.
