While regulation and standard are the keys to the success of a childcare facility, there are factors that I believe are equally important to be successful in an early childcare program. So, I looked for a highly qualified teacher with good communication skills. Saint Mary Academy Inc. displayed these factors upon entry to the facility. I saw degrees of teacher and directors ranging from masters to bachelor degrees specialized for the profession display behind the desk of the director for the day.

One of the largest social controversies of the current time are the parental pressures attached to whether or not a child should attend daycare. While many parents struggle with this decision, others do not have the luxury of choice; many questions are raised asking if it is beneficial or harmful for infants and young children to attend daycare, spending the majority of their waking hours with caregivers other than their parents. There are of course many opinions and studies regarding this issue. As with any controversial topic there is no right or wrong answers for the masses. In her interviews with woman she was sure to interview very well educated women and those that strived for mere perfection. One thing is that the men in the lives of these women were not supportive and not mentioned of much. The men and society of today have placed a lot of responsibility on a woman’s shoulders when it comes to the child. It is the woman who makes the decision or is given the task to make the heavy decisions regarding the child’s future. Because of this many women choose to stay at home to be sure that the children will receive everything that they deserve and that they are not lacking in any area. Another issue that she reviews is that employers do not work with moms at all. For example she talked about the scenario where two moms brought a solution to their problem to management yet it failed to receive approval instead one mother was offered more money (Guest, 2011). Employers are not very flexible when it comes to mothers and don’t provide the proper care that is needed for a child. Since men are the ones that don’t carry the responsibility of the child’s well-being having proper day care is not a factor for them. Then there is the cost of day care which is high and can at times not compare to what the individual is making.

An onsite Daycare is a place directly located at the employers of parents with toddlers or babies who need full time child care while their parents are at work. It allows the parents the advantage of being close to their children while still being able to maintain stability with their careers.

In this paper I will discuss the childcare decisions that my mother made for me, what to consider when evaluating childcare, and compare them to some of my references and see how they are similar and also how they differ.

Within these facilities, high quality care calls for each child reach greater levels of learning and can develop skills at their own pace under supervision.

An increase in baby booming makes it tougher for working parents to find daycare. The facts prove that having children come with a true price. Infant’s effect of full time daycare is becoming more prevalent among families with the rise of both parents working full time. There are several aspects that have been questioned regarding the length of stay and the development of infants such as reunion behaviors with parents and resistance and avoidance later in their life (Schwarts, 1983). An infant’s development in a daycare facility can impact them based on the attention they receive, or lack thereof (Schwarts, 1983). There is a said effect of early and repeated separation form the mother primarily with their attachment bond (Schwarts, 1983). There is also an effect of daycare infants that is based upon the facility being attended. A daycare that fails to provide the infant with personalized attention, quality of toys, caregiver resources and no direct stimulus throughout their day will have an increased in heightened emotions during separation (Schwarts, 1983).

Parents are usually excited when they finally agree to send their child to day care. The first year of child care is supposed to be joyful, eventful, and full of new experiences for both you and your child. The problem that usually occur during the first year of child care is that your child seems to be sick way too often. Parents spend most of their time calling out of work or trying to figure out who will be taking care of their child at home. It might seem that your child has been sick for the entire school year. The University of Montreal conducted a long-term study from 1998 to 2006 and found that children in day care have a higher chance of getting respiratory tract infection and the infection decrease during elementary school year.
