Procrastination is all too familiar to most of the people and it has become a widespread phenomenon at all ages of life. In childhood, children will make every effort to put off finishing their homework. When they grow up into adults, they start to delay writing up their thesis, repeatedly declare they will start their diets tomorrow, or postpone until deadlines finishing the tasks. Yet people also sometimes struggle to control their procrastination. But things always go against with what they want. This essay revolves around the definition and the negative effects of procrastination, reasons for procrastination behaviors and the effective solution to procrastination behaviors.

We can do many things on time on most occasions without any procrastination. Therefore, we have to be determined to eliminate it as much as possible. Second, you need to understand how procrastination affects our life and then take corresponding measures such as write down your tasks in a visible place with their due dates so that you are reminded all the time, think about what attracts you to your assignment, reassess your assignment and make it less intimidating, list a possible obstacle for completing assignment and avoid those disturbances deliberately, create a reward system to celebrate successful tasks, develop a flexible schedule that only include important task because rigid one can only leave you feeling overwhelmed, etc. Last but not least, it’s your determination and courage that counts when you are procrastinating. The problem is that I procrast when it come with school and work.In the past year I didnt do well in this same class end of having to drop the class in the main reason why is because I would wait last minture to do the work or go online. It cause me to be late and I tuned in the assessment last minute. I wait last minute to do everything. My hypotheses is if you follow these easy step you wouldn 't procurator anymore.The methods and steps I use to help me with my stop procrastination is write down my work on a calendar. Break my work into little steps. Then change the area i 'm in if it 's loud ,and I cannot stay focus ; I would go somewhere quiet , so I can get the work done . Most of the time it 's the library for me because it 's so quiet in the library. Create a goal a timeline with deadlines about the work. Eliminate my procrastination pit-stops which mean to us young adults election deceive anything that stop me from doing my work is a pit-stop. Get a friend that inspire to who is going to take action and help you not procurator which its my girlfriend. Ask for help if you stuck on something don 't wait last minute ask your teacher or friend. Write your goals on something look at it everyday. Attention Getter: A famous author by the name of Wayne Dyer once said, “Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and its toll on success and happiness is incredibly heavy.”(1) In todays society it seems as if procrastination has become a normal and acceptable thing to do. A specific goal is clear, focused, concise, and well-defined (“Ensure Your Success”). Instead of a general goal like “I want to get my degree,” turn that into something more specific like “I am going to get my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from George Mason University” (“Ensure Your Success”). To make goals measurable, establish timelines and dates so you can measure your progress and stay on track to meet targets. Goals need to be achievable. I found I’m not alone according to two leading experts on procrastination, Joseph Ferrari, professor of psychology at DePaul University and Timothy Phikul, professor of psychology at Carleton University 20% of people identify themselves as chronic procrastinators and up to 70 percent of students in one study said that they procrastinate. This habit affects so many and it one of the most difficult tendencies to kick but fortunately there are ways to go about solving the issue so today I would like to inform you all about why people procrastinate and the effects it can have and also ways to overcome it.

Many students do it, which can become problematic. Not studying for a test, putting off homework or foregoing cleaning the house can lead to extra stress that stims from procrastination. Kate Blackwell, a college student attending South Eastern University finds herself procrastinating often. She realizes that she procrastinates when she feels overwhelmed by school work and outside activities. Kate tends to put off the activities that she does not enjoy doing. For instance, she will make plans with friends rather than studying for a test even though she knows she going to regret it later (Blackwell).
