The One-Child policy is not being enforced like it would have been in ancient China.
During the Qin Dynasty Laws were carried in a stricter manner. For example Qin Shi Huangdi killed Daoist and Confucian scholars the burned their books because they would not change their ideology. However, in modern days such an act would not be tolerated by anyone and now instead of killing the people who broke the rule they are forced to get an abortion or sterilization. This shows that the Chinese government can control a person’s personal decision. Mrs.Dong a woman who was discovered to be pregnant with twins had “Without the agreement or signature of Mrs. Dong or her family” she was “injected Ethacridine Lactate”. Another example is “The brave pregnant woman who refuses to give in is usually detained and beaten…” (Chinese Twins Aborted) this shows that Legalism is still in China due to the fact that the government enforces laws harshly and unnecessarily brutally also having a huge influence on it’s people without consulting them. …show more content…

The leniency towards those who follow the policy shows that the harshness that the Qin dynasty had is leaving modern China. Despite the fact that rule breakers are beaten they are not killed they are either arrested or beaten (Chinese Twins Aborted). Also some ethnic groups such as the Uighurs and Tibetans are excluded further proving that the government is not making everyone follow this rule only the general population. There are also exceptions for the general public for example families on the county side can have a second child if their first child is female (What is China’s One-Child Policy).These examples proves that legalist ideology is beginning to disintegrate however, is still stands firm in modern
