The Outsiders This story makes a great book and movie, they are the same and very different. I enjoyed both of them about the same. The book never bored me and the movie kept me on the edge of the seat. This article will tell you about the differences and similatities in the characters, relationships, and scenes. I will be comparing the books descriptions and if they matched the movies. I think they did a good job matching Johnny’s his actor was perfectly matched with the jet black hair, big black eyes, always looking sad, and the long hair. Sodapop in the book had blonde hair and so did Dally, but in the movie they both had brown hair. Darry matched the description well also, he was very muscular and had dark brown hair. That wasn’t that important but I thought it made us think about weather Ponyboy is acting really weird because of the concussion or because Johnny and Dally died. They also left out the part where they went to court for Johnny killing Bob and to see if Sodapop and Ponyboy would have to be put in a boys home. I do think that was an important part because it showed Cherry and Randy telling the truth and it made Ponyboy think. They also left out some small parts like when Ponyboy hitchhiked his way home from the hospital after Johnny died. Also they left out the part of Ponyboy getting talked to about his grades by his teachers because he got them down to a F, and if she wrote a great paper that would get him to a C, I don’t know if that part was Important or not. It did show that it affected him because of his grades, but I don’t know if we needed to know that to know the point of the story. When we first were going to start this story I thought I was going to be really bored, but I was wrong I enjoyed this story a lot because it had some great points in it telling me to stay gold. I think the movie and book did have a lot of differences but they did a really good job getting the important parts right on, they even said a lot of the same
