Preventative Healthcare and Health Care Reform The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a large bill concerning and affecting health care which was signed into law in 2010. The bill was brought about in attempts to eliminate health care disparities. The bill is divided into ten sections which are called titles. Under each title are subtitles and sections. Title I describes the goal of quality, affordable healthcare for all Americans. There are many changes to health care with the new bill. The new protections, benefits, rules, mandates, assistance and tax credits are all found under Title I (Civic Impulse, 2015). Subtitle A is found within Title 1. This subtitle specifies immediate improvements in health care coverage for all Americans. Section 2713 falls under subtitle A. This section provides for the coverage of preventative health services. The Centers for Disease Control, the United States Preventative Services Task Force and the Health Resources and Services Administration recommend specific immunizations, child preventative services and general preventative services. These preventative recommendations are now required to be covered in all health insurance plans under the provision of section 2713 without cost sharing by the insured (Civic Impulse, 2015).
Costs
