As the saying goes, a dog is a man’s best friend. The dog is a loving companion to a man. He is happy to go everywhere with his master. He shows his affection for his master by wagging his tail and licking his hand or face. This timeless relationship continues to evolve into new kinds of human-dog interactions that increasingly benefit society.
For millions of years dogs have remained a constant companion of man. Bred from the aggressive and formidable Gray Wolf tens of thousands of years ago the domestic dog now lives in many homes across the world. Where in the far distant past the domestic dog was bred as a guard animal, a beast of burden, and even a food source the dogs of today are bred for a far more endearing purpose-companionship and love. Finding a pet dog that is more of a joy than a chore is necessary when asking: How much is that puppy in the window?
He is a good watch dog and tends to bark incessantly if he is left alone for too long. He is a little hard to housebreak and is sensitive to extreme climate. This is a breed that appreciates a sweater in cold days to keep him warm. He is long-lived and very seldom ill. He can live outside the house provided you have a heated kennel.

They live for about 10-12 years of age. 10-12% of these dogs are born deaf. They are prone to urinary stones, skin allergies, such as synthetic fibers in carpets and upholstery. These dogs are not good for apartments, they should be taken for a walk or run several times a day. Not suited for cold climates.
She would watch and whine as the other dogs would play but would not participate at first. After an hour or so of watching she finally jumped down and the other dogs quickly came up to sniff her which made her bolt for the sofa and my lap as they wagged their tails and followed suit trying to smell her as she tucked her hind end with her tail nub tucked tight. She promptly barked and growled again. They would put their ears back and heads down and look away like they had been scolded, after all they had been in a way, and then they would go off to play again.

Lost, lonely, in need of a warm home, food for their bellies. In need of love, longing for a family to call their own. These animals wander the streets begging for food, giving you those adorable eyes, hoping to charm their way into a dinner. Some of them already have good homes, full bellies, and already have an owner to call their own. They already have someone who they can be loyal to. These animals are the best friends of many. They are commonly known as a “pet” even though to most of us they are so much more than just a pet. Whether they already have a place to call home, or are still in search of such a place, dogs are best known as “Man’s best friend”. The Oxford English Dictionary defines them as “A domesticated carnivorous mammal… has a long snout, an acute sense of smell,
Your dog which is well-trained won't need to be trapped inside your garage or abandoned in your yard whenever there is company. During our group discussion of the scene, the main reaction of dissonance we noticed was the fight-flight reaction. Although these responses will not be evident until the latter half of the scene, it seemed to us the most prominent action demonstrated, mainly by the character O’Callahan.
At the age of 43, William Golding wrote the astonishing novel, Lord of the Flies. This novel is about a group of British schoolboys that end up abandoned on an island after a plane crash during a war. In the novel, the boys change immensely throughout their time on the island. They showed how humans can be cruel. Golding himself said that as a child he enjoyed hurting people. (“William Golding Biography.com”) A famous psychologist, Sigmund Freud describes personality as having three aspects that work together to form our behavior; ID, Ego, and Superego. ("Structure of Mind: Freud's ID, Ego, & Superego") In Lord of the Flies, Jack represents ID, Ralph represents Ego, and Piggy represents Superego.

At first glance tail chasing may look like a perfectly normal component of playful behavior in canines. Problems become apparent only when they become excessive and or the dog injures itself during the particular activity. In addition, the dog cannot be distracted from the behavior, thus the tail chasing behavior is classified as a stereotypic behavior. “In animal behavior stereotypy, stereotypical or stereotyped behavior has several meanings, leading to ambiguity in the scientific literature. A stereotypy is a term for a group of phenotypic behaviors that are repetitive, morphologically identical and which possess no obvious goal or function”. (Mason 1993).This type of behavior display can be exacerbated by the animal confinement where the
All dogs behave in a different way. Some bark when someone comes comes through the door and some avoid contact at all costs. Whether your dog barks constantly or lays all day, they all react a different way. Dogs have many different types of barking such as compulsive barking, socially facilitated barking, and alarm barking. Dogs use barking to communicate with their owners. Dogs engaged in alarm barking are usually stiff, unlike a dog that is trying to greet you. Dogs engaged in compulsive barking usually bark repetitively like a broken record. Some dogs bark when they hear other dogs barking, which is socially facilitated barking. There are different types of barks for each and every signal.
Hi everyone my name’s Rambo. When you come in to see me, I’m more than likely going to start barking at you. However, once I get out of my cage my barking stops, but I’m still a little unsure and shy around new people. Though if you take it slow with me by and allowing me to approach you when I’m ready, and by just sitting and talking softly and gently to me, I’ll start to warm up to you more and more. In fact, once I’ve gotten used to you, I’ll come over and want to be picked up in order to snuggle up in your lap. Fast movements and loud noise scare, so as a result I would probably do best in a home that nice, calm, and quiet. I’m not sure if I was ever an inside dog in my past, but I’m doing pretty well about not having accidents in my cage.
